Hurting people hurt people, but they also tend to hurt themselves in the long run. The need for an unbiased and non-judgemental person to talk to can serve to provide a sense of relief from the stress you may be facing in the moment. I believe that is what we may need in our lives, and I am able to serve you in this area. For whatever your needs may be, I will tailor the treatment plan accordingly and strive to find the best approach to meet them.

I am a licensed therapist practicing EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Play Therapy. I work with children, youth and adults. I have experience working with clients struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship difficulties. I work with you to identify the roots of the symptoms you are currently experiencing and make a plan for strategies that may be helpful for you. I strive to better understand your emotions and experiences so I can offer you strategies which may be beneficial for your unique situation. I offer a free consultation.

I am a good listener who will encourage you to reflect on what works for you, and which strategies you have tried in the past that have both worked well, or were unsuccessful. I will challenge you in good ways while delivering unconditional acceptance of your preferences and coping strategies. I will encourage you to grow, adapt, and face life’s challenges, losses, and life transitions. I work with many diverse issues relating to mental health and wellness. I also have experience with a vast range of clients from ages 4-76 years and multicultural backgrounds. I am a holistic counsellor and I use a strength based approach to psychotherapy and counselling. I am skilled cognitive therapist, and I enjoy talk therapy using client centred approaches to psychotherapy. I will hold a solution-focused, results based approach with you. There is no problem too big - or, that can’t be better managed. I work with children, teens, and adults. My (very) well behaved and highly trained dog, may be present at sessions. I've been in practice for clinical counselling since 2010. Over the course of time, I have adopted a practical and evidence-based approach to clinical counselling. Some of my areas of expertise are anxiety, depression, inter-personal relationships, family of origin challenges, career/work and trauma. I have years of additional training under my belt but I've found that it comes down to the relationship between the counsellor and the client. In this case, it's what you know AND who you want in your corner. I enjoy working with a variety of clients, and most especially those who are ready to do the work to get the life the want!

I have been described by clients as being vibrant and energetic and the way I conduct therapy is an action-orientated process. When conducting therapy with my couples I create a positive, comfortable, and humor-filled, environment which is most conducive to learning. It is so gratifying to see couples become excited about their relationships, and to know that I had a part in influencing their relationship in a positive way. I work with couples on many topics, from communication to infidelity. I also enjoy individual therapy working on issues around anxiety, depression, to life transitions.
