I have always had a fascination and enthusiasm for learning about the human experience – how our emotions, motivations and behaviours influence who we are and how we move about the world. I am also deeply passionate about helping individuals within my community. In keeping with this mindset, I aim to provide clients with a compassionate, validating, and non-judgmental space through the counselling relationship. I work with my clients to build a trusting partnership where together, we can develop strategies that “fit,” are effective, and create positive patterns that move you toward growth and wellness.

I am a certified IFS therapist and have been educated via the IFS Institute. I use Internal Family Systems therapy combined with Polyvagal theory and somatic work. Creating a strong and non-dogmatic container together is the cornerstone of my practice. I am especially skilled at attuning, and providing company in places that you may have previously felt alone. We will work towards helping parts of you that may be stuck in fight, flight, freeze, fawn, or collapse. Many of my clients are people in their 20s and 30s exploring the transitions and challenges of adulthood while reckoning with Family of Origin trauma.

I have supported a lot of people struggling with anxiety, depression, feelings of aloneness, and a yearning for things to be different. Maybe you know there’s old baggage (hello, old childhood wounds!) that probably needs unpacking, but don't know how to start… or maybe you’re truly not even sure why everything feels hard. I support a small team of excellent counsellors in a welcoming group practice, and my top priority is to make sure that we are offering therapy that feels worth your time, energy and money. If you want to feel like your counsellor gets you, for real, and won't pathologize you, then you're in the right place.

I’m a second generation European settler, an explorer of nature, a knitter, and a Registered Clinical Counsellor who has supported youth and adults and their mental health for over a decade. I’m a calm, curious, relaxed person who has been asking the big existential questions of who we are and why we’re here and what to do about that my whole life. I love bringing this curiosity into the counselling space and supporting you to identify how those questions are impacting you. You may be feeling depressed, full of anxiety, working through past and current traumas, or grappling with the difficulties that being alive inevitably brings.

Counsellors follow their clients’ curiosities and needs while finding effective approaches to building skills and supporting clients to explore their strengths and challenges in a compassionate and engaging way. Nature-based counselling is an experiential form of therapy because we are engaging with the natural world to help us grow. We believe people are connected to and deeply impacted by their natural environment. We often use therapeutic games, reflection questions, sensory experiences, mindfulness practices, and regulation/restorative activities to help clients meet their needs and overcome challenges.

I value holding a non-judgmental, safe space to find healthy perceptions of yourself while navigating life transitions. I believe that we all have times when we need a little more or a little different support when our support systems and usual ways of coping are not enough. My approach is not just about understanding; it's about action. Picture a session where you not only explore the roots of your challenges but also actively build a toolkit to overcome them.

In my varied practice, I see youth and adults, addressing issues ranging from mental health concerns to life transitions. I use a client-centred approach, respecting that you are the expert in your own life. The therapeutic relationship we create allows you to explore your reality to the extent that you want to, in a trusting, calm and gentle environment. I draw from a number of different therapeutic styles, suited to you as a person, your worldview and your interests (talk, art, sandtray, play). I practice from an anti-oppressive, inclusive perspective, and also provide clinical supervision for counsellors.

I believe in an individualized, caring and respectful approach when working with clients to become more resilient and effective in their lives. Many people believe that the skills and motivation needed to maneuver all of life’s obstacles are automatically within all of us. But many of us learn ineffective ways of communicating, develop unhealthy patterns or find ourselves stuck with no idea of how to move forward. Having a dedicated time to examine patterns, build skills and develop a deeper understanding of ones’ strengths can help build a greater sense of wellness and clarity in our lives.
