I also weave aspects of modalities like Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Emotion-Focused Therapy into my work.
I'm happy you're here! Life can throw a lot of challenges at us, and I learned the value of having a dedicated counsellor to support us through it all at a young age. As a proud queer-identifying counsellor, I bring my whole self into every session (humour, quirks, cheeky mugs, and all) and I strive to co-create a safe space with everyone I work with so that you are invited to do the same. I'm located on Lekwungen territory (Victoria, BC) and offer in-person, walk-and-talk, and online counselling to folks residing anywhere in BC. I also provide hormone readiness assessments for folks wanting to access gender-affirming healthcare.

I use narrative and person-centred approaches, honouring that you are the expert in your life.
I work with a range of issues, including life transitions, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, loss and grief. I often see people who feel limited by prescribed social roles, norms and expectations. They want to break free from these constraints and live a life that fully reflects who they are. In therapy, we work together to uncover my clients' longings and desires, reconnecting them with their true nature.

I am an enthusiastic person who facilitates skill development through a DBT and narrative therapy framework.
Are you wanting to build skills to manage distress, emotionally regulate, and improve your interpersonal communication? Do you want to be more present in your life? Are you committed to self-development through learning new skills and applying them in your daily life outside of therapy? Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) may be what you are looking for if you are ready to put this hard work into action. I am currently accepting new clients for DBT groups, and running a waitlist for individual services.

I am informed in the use of CBT, DBT, Narrative and Internal Family systems, using any of these methods we would work together to build an awareness of the things causing you issues and work to reframe and shift the narrative.
It is important to feel seen and understood. There are lifestyle choices that often don't get the support they need because of the stigma created around it. My lifestyle may mirror those needing that empathy and compassion, having been a serving member of the Canadian Armed Forces for 20 years, being Indigenous, LGBTQ and a single parent and belonging to several other communities which face stigmatization because of the way we live.

This may look like an exploration of early life experiences, examining core beliefs and cognitive frameworks, somatic work, inner child work, exploring emotions, and narrative restructuring.
Our mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health are deeply connected. Building and maintaining health and well-being requires an understanding of these connections and the ways that your personal history, relationships, environment, and communities play important roles. If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, or any challenging life circumstances, exploration into the underlying sources as well as present-focused tools to manage these difficulties can help on the path to healing and greater vitality.

I am a registered clinical counsellor with the BCACC. I specialize in counselling men in Victoria, B.C. Anxiety and Depression can drag many people down and paralyze them under the weight of sadness and worry. I work with you to find a leverage point from which you might release the pressure enough to gain perspective and move toward a better way of living. I am trained in Narrative Therapy, CBT, DBT, and Trauma therapy. It takes a lot of courage to begin counselling and I consider it a privilege to meet with clients when they recognize that it is time to talk about the struggles that they are experiencing.
