Are you feeling lost? Disconnected? Do enjoy working with dreams, art, or other creative means to gain a greater understanding of who you are? I work with clients to creatively heal, grow, and find meaning in their lives. I work from a Jungian oriented perspective. My practice is sex-positive and welcomes individuals into a creative, and often nerdy, space of compassion and non-judgment. I believe counselling can be a space where we can get to know our authentic selves, where many parts of ourselves can be explored and we can start to resist the boxes that may be confining us. I view counselling as a collaborative process and recognize each person’s natural ability to gravitate toward change at their own pace. The genuine connection of a counselling relationship in a safe enough and inclusive environment is often at the root of healing.

We’re all born into systems and socially constructed narratives that impact us, and unravelling your story within those systems and narratives makes space to rewrite it. I want to empower you to tell your story, now and in the future, despite whatever boxes the world tries to put you in. By creating the building blocks of radical self-acceptance through self-reflection and self-discovery, we can explore alternative perspectives to constructing new meanings and possibilities. This process can help you expand your thinking, challenge self-limiting beliefs, and develop more flexible and adaptive ways of thinking and being.

By addressing troubling thoughts and feelings, self-sabotaging behaviors, and traumas, life can be made more manageable, productive, and fulfilling. Feelings such as grief, shame, anxiety, sadness, and anger often signal that something needs to change. Listening to and working with these feelings—some that consume us and others that gently nudge us—can move us forward. Through this, we sometimes discover that our everyday dilemmas are part of larger patterns waiting to be resolved as a whole.

Reaching out for help with a problem can be very intimidating! It may help you to know that our work together will always be based upon YOUR values and goals and a shared understanding of the problem. I use cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based methods to help people who struggle with unpleasant feelings, problem behaviors, or under-functioning. I'm a huge fan of ACT Therapy, which helps you to notice and disentangle from unhelpful thoughts, notice and accept diffiuclt feelings, orient to the present moment and commit to actions that move you towards what you want in life - towards your values!

Why does being me feel so difficult sometimes? If you’re asking this question, it's perhaps because what used to help you cope with life is no longer working. But your suffering is not your fault. I will walk with you on your journey towards discovering and unburdening the parts, feelings & needs within that have been silenced for survival. I work predominantly with racialized, neurodivergent, and LGBTQ+ people experiencing anxiety, depression, self-criticism, emotional difficulties and other complex-PTSD symptoms. My goal as your therapist is to help you write a new self narrative that is more liveable, authentic, and empowering.

Grief is a natural response to loss, which may include a range of emotions such as sadness, anger, guilt, longing, and often involves adjusting to life without the presence of what or who has been loss. Grief is also a highly individual experience, with no set timeline or "right" way to grieve. However, if you are struggling to cope with your loss, I am here to guide you through your journey of grief, helping you navigate the complex emotions, coming to terms with loss and finding ways to integrate it into your life. Formerly working in funeral service and community outreach, I have spent over 10 years helping people in distress.

My foundation of therapy is a biopsychosocial-spiritual model, viewing human beings as whole persons of four aspects: physical, psychological, social, and spiritual. Therefore, I am able to see the whole picture on how a brain injury, physical illness, physical trauma, or substance abuse affects human emotions, cognition, behavior, and spirituality, or vice versa. My approach utilizes Cognitive Rehabilitation therapy (CRT), Rogerian therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), and Narrative therapy in order to help my clients toward problem solving and having a new hope for a new life.

Seeking help is not a weakness, it is a sign of strength and courage. People routinely see doctors for physical ailments - our emotional health/wellness are just as important. To "re·solve" means: settle or find an answer or solution; to rectify; sort out; or deal with; decide firmly on a course of action; determine or make a commitment to do something; separate into components; dissolve or disintegrate; reduce or divide; analyze, dissect, categorize; disperse; subside or heal; to move from dissonance to consonance or harmony; to be changed or transformed.
