In my counselling practice, I love supporting wellness goals and mental health issues of all shapes and sizes, such as anxiety, depression, panic attacks, anger management, stress, relationship issues, family conflict, and abuse - just to name a few. However, I specialize in treating symptoms of neurodivergence & trauma. For example, issues associated with autism (ASD), attention-deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), attachment styles, and childhood trauma, especially around boundary-setting, relationship issues, and the LGBTQ2I+ community.

I have worked with a diverse range of presenting issues within the school system and non-profit organizations, some include: anxiety, depression, OCD, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, eating disorders, perfectionism, burnout, and childhood trauma.
Hi! I'm Dominique. Life can get tricky and I understand that speaking to someone about it may be difficult. Finding the right words to describe how you feel or what you have experienced can be challenging, and it should not be something that one should have to experience on their own. With my understanding that each individual has their own unique story and experiences, I tend to take a person-centered in counselling in which I alter my clinical skills to fit the needs and preferences of my client. I am attentive to each client's biological, environmental, and social factors and consider them when applying therapeutic approaches.

Are you ready to take off all the masks, be authentically you and live your authentic life ? Together through this process we will unravel the challenges, not just live your life, but thrive!

I specialize in counselling for queer, trans, non-binary, and neurodivergent people. I work from the perspectives of social justice and attachment - I believe that the social environment we grew up in, and our relationship histories within those environments, shape how we think and feel in our present. I pay special attention to how power functions in our relationships, families, and communities, and how it impacts our internal experiences. I work extensively with people who discover their queer or trans identities later in life. I am also qualified to offer ADHD, ASD, and HRT readiness assessments.

I love working with clients who are ready to change, even if they are not sure what they want to change yet. I enjoy helping people define what a good, or better life would look like for them, and exploring - and, conquering - blocks to achieving this. Sometimes, this involves going backwards, and exploring past patterns/systems. Other times, it's about moving forward. We define this, together. I welcome all to work with me. As a mixed race (Jamaican/German), BIPOC queer, and non-binary therapist, I love serving members of my community. I enjoy helping people overcome blocks to creativity & business. I offer somatic therapy

I have experience working with children, teens and young adults who are dealing with social and emotional issues, while striving to strengthen their internal locus of control. Outside of counselling, I work with individuals in the Vancouver Downtown Eastside who are living with addiction and housing insecurity. Through this work, I have developed an appreciation that mental health challenges can be exacerbated by both internal and external factors, such as past trauma and poverty.

Currently you may feel as if you are in a place of hopelessness, depression, experiencing feelings of being overwhelmed with few resources to draw upon for help. Collaborative through counselling and/or art therapy we can explore and rediscover your internal resources finding your inner resilience and strength; exploring answers to your feelings, inner turmoil and questions. Answers you might seek are how do I deal with the pit in my stomach, or why do I feel so anxious all the time and why can’t I sleep through the night; what is my body trying to tell me?

While in my care, you feel warmth and connection. I have come to believe that the childhood and adolescent years in a person’s life go a long way to defining who they are and what they go on to do in their future. I am constantly learning about myself and seeking growth in my personal and professional life, which fuels my drive to help children and families in distress. My absolute love and adoration for children plays a big part in my decisions. I have a genuine passion for seeing the happiness within people and I believe that those who are genuinely happy with who they go on to spread authentic happiness to others.

I am currently accepting clients for virtual counselling. I work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and help clients address mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, caregiver fatigue, and work-related stress. I have experience working with neurodivergent adults, children (ages 10 and up) and youth. This includes folks diagnosed with (or querying) ADD, ADHD, and ASD.
