Trauma impacts how we see the world, navigate through our experiences, and connect with others. You are not the product of a single experience or relationship but sometimes one experience can feel so overwhelming that it overtakes over all others. Together, you can start to dream about what life will look like if this problem or memory is no longer an obstacle.

You are often experiencing circular arguments, or a complete stand off when it comes to communicating, and it feels as if the love between you has all but disappeared. You are at a loss as to how to untangle the situation that you are in. Life is busy and stressful and something needs to change or your relationship could quite possibly be over. You want to feel the love again. You want to be able to talk to each other and be heard and understood. You want to wake up each day feeling calm and happy and excited for the future, knowing you and your partner are a team, in this journey of life together.

As your therapist, I use many skills to help you heal. I see therapy as an mind and body endeavour. In my opinion, genuine human connection—which requires time to develop into a relationship based on authenticity and trust—is the key to healing. In order for you to go out into the world as your most genuine, at-ease self, I work with you to explore emotional patterns, ideas, and feelings. My goal is to provide a calm atmosphere where we can take our time and work through challenging situations together.

So whether it’s reduced anxiety, a more harmonious relationship, or changing your alcohol / substance use patterns, we’ve got you.
We all have things we’ve been told about ourselves that we internalize and start telling ourselves. Do you struggle with a story or belief about yourself that holds you back? Does this cause you some stress, loneliness, conflict in your relationships, or even lead you into misusing alcohol or substances? Now, more than ever, a lot of us are feeling disconnected from others and under the spell of negative stories about ourselves. In my practice, my team and I believe that these stories can be rewritten, that we are each the author of our own lives.

I guide you toward healing through the art of conversation. Many therapists consider themselves to be just that: therapists. For me, therapy is a form of art. I believe healing takes place through feeling real, human connection, which means taking time to build an authentic, trusting relationship with each other. I work with you to explore emotional patterns, thoughts, and feelings, so you can step into the world as your most authentic, peaceful self. I strive to offer a peaceful environment where we can slow down and unpack difficult experiences together.

I support children (8+), youth and adults, and am currently accepting new clients. Compassion, presence and curiosity are the foundation of my therapeutic approach. At certain points in life things can feel overwhelming and confusing, especially when approached alone. Our relationships and work may suffer, and we may feel like we are lost and working against ourselves. I work with clients of all ages to explore their experiences, relationships, values and beliefs, and to develop a better relationship with themselves at a pace that is developmentally appropriate, collaborative, and grounded in trust.

Relationship Issues Counsellors
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
