We are an online counselling agency so do not provide services in person. Strength Counselling Services has licensed, experienced therapists who use evidence-based practices, prioritize client needs, and maintain ethical standards. We offer culturally sensitive, affordable services in a supportive environment. We offer a comprehensive goals assessment, regularly assess progress, and collaborate with other professionals. My focus is on Relationship Counselling. This encompasses all forms of relationships on an individual, couple or group counselling basis. Often when clients come in, clarification may be needed in order for clients to fully understand their part in a relationship. If this is the case, the first sessions will be on how to communicate from a grounded, rational viewpoint. Once this is achieved, clients will move into the next phase of deep relational emotion focused counselling to allow for a deeper understanding of self and each other.

Welcome! I am glad you found yourself here. I acknowledge that counselling is a courageous step. It is courageous to look within yourself and realize that there are some things not working for you. Many times we have experienced non-death loss, suffering, and pain hoping that it would have disappeared with time but the intense pain, hurt, and anger continues to remain.

I have acquired over 20,000 hours direct clinical experience. I have run depression-treatment psycho-education groups in Outpatient Psychiatry at Vancouver General Hospital. As a university instructor I taught thousands of graduate and undergraduate students. I have mentored practicum and internship students at the beginning of their careers as well as professionals in development. I have been a consultant on Intergenerational and Intercultural communications. I have spoken at corporate events on burnout, corporate divorce, family succession, major life transitions, high-stakes decision-making, and existential crises.

Our therapists help with a variety of presenting issues ranging from depression, anxiety, PTSD, pain management, identity, workplace issues and much more. Art Therapy is widely used as an auxiliary treatment for depression, illness and chronic pain, addiction and trauma. Children and Youth particularly respond well to Art Therapy as it offers a less confrontational approach to counselling . I have experience working with children and youth with various challenges stemming from parental separation, anxiety disorders, grief and loss and especially difficulties with social inclusion and feeling outcasted.

I have worked with many clients at different stages of their lifecycle. It is my passion to help youth and young adults deal with the problems they face. Being a person of colour, understanding culture, identity and the integration of values is an evolving process. Krishna Sharma is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). She holds a second Masters in Educational Leadership and a certified teacher with specializations in Montessori, Special Education and Restorative Justice. She has worked as a Youth and Family therapist with the RCMP and currently works as a scKrishna uses CBT, Narrative and play therapy in her work and is accepting online clients. A good friend and mentor describes me as a honey bee, a nahlah that has travelled from place to place in search of sweetness and wisdom.
