My non-pathologizing approach to counselling means that I never see the client as the problem - the problem is the problem and I use this approach in every aspect of the counselling journey. The client that seeks me out is looking for help over life-controlling problems that are impacting their life in very disruptive ways. They are seeking to discover who they are and to find healing from trauma that continues to be disruptive to a fulfilling life. They are often trying to navigate the complexities of various relationships in their lives while establishing for themselves healthy boundaries and learning how to respect their 'no'.

I exist to assist the Indigenous Peoples of Canada to achieve sovereignty through the development of coaching leadership skills. Substance use and lateral violence are mechanisms that continue to keep Indigenous Peoples oppressed. This is accomplished through gossip, backstabbing, shunning, and sabotage. We strive to build addiction recovery resiliency to develop and enhance positive coping mechanisms to deal with life on life's terms.

I believe we're all trying to figure out how we can live better lives. Maybe you’ve realized you need to lower your stress & create more balance in your life. Maybe you’re tired of feeling overwhelmed & exhausted & you just want to feel like yourself again. Maybe you can’t spend another day secretly questioning if you’re good enough. Whatever motivates your desire for change, the truth is it’s easy to default to old patterns. But you’re here, looking at this page, so that tells me you’re ready for change. You're ready to learn, heal, & grow & this time, you know you need a little support to make it happen.

I invite and include all humans; even if you feel alien, you are welcome. As a member of the LGBTQ2S community with mixed ancestry and a decolonizing lens, I see people as being impacted by their social, cultural and environmental circumstances. These factors intersect with the Self which includes spiritual, physical, mental and emotional aspects. Your unique expression of Self requires an approach tailored to your specific needs and style of learning. We will collaborate on the approach and your goals to ensure that you get what you need from therapy. We will also build in checkpoints to allow for course correction.

I have experience working with individuals experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship problems, gender issues, substance use, low self-esteem, stress related issues, and chronic illness. I believe that each of us is capable of much more than we are aware, and that being seen and supported can shine light on the innate wisdom and strength within. As your therapist, some of the themes I will explore with you are attachment patterns, automatic thoughts, self-limiting beliefs, and emotion processing. I use an integrative approach pulling from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness Based CBT. My practice is inclusive and person-centered - you are the expert in your own life and I value and respect the unique perspective you bring.

As human beings, we all experience ups and downs in life. Sometimes, we could use extra support to navigate these challenges. I offer a judgement free space to explore concerns, develop clarity and practice practical strategies to move forward. A safe, compassionate space allows us to understand ourselves more deeply, which allows us to make small changes. Small changes compound and not only can we overcome difficulties, we can grow and thrive.
