I am a Registered Psychotherapist and Registered Counselling Supervisor. My practice is guided by extensive experience working with people coming from various socioeconomic backgrounds as well as many years of serving the most vulnerable communities in Vancouver’s DTES. While my approach is integrative of modern theories and techniques, it heavily relies on Psychodynamic theories and practice. Psychodynamic Psychotherapy is a highly individualized treatment whose goal is not only to alleviate the most obvious symptom. It relies on the fact that our personalities are uniquely shaped by several developmental stages.

Husain is a strength based and multicultural Registered Clinical Counselor (RCC) with experience working with adults, children & youth. Husain provides care for anxiety, panic attacks, mood disorders, depression, grief, trauma, stress-related disorders, brain injuries, relationship issues, substance misuse, PTSD, ADHD and/or bipolar disorders. Husain currently works at Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Mental Health Substance Use therapist and works with complex clinical health cases. Husain also provides specific counselling to victims of assault and/or injury. This includes ICBC or CVAP clients.

Addiction is a complex and challenging battle, but it's important to remember that recovery is not only possible but within reach for everyone. I am a RCC who specializes in working with children, youth and families to achieve balance, harmony and connection to self through various play modalities. I am an Advanced Neuroscience in the Sand Tray therapist (NSST), who trained with Madeleine DeLittle in Fort Langley. I also have training in Synergetic Play Therapy (SPT) and Observed Experiential Integration (OEI), born out of EMDR to help those with PTSD, or traumatic experiences. I work from an attachment lens, built on family systems, mindfulness & person cantered approach. I attune to each individual clients needs to help them deepen their healing experience.

My fundamental orientation to counselling is existential. At its heart, this approach doesn't distinguish between cognitions (thinking) and affect (feeling) and the somatic (body). Instead, it (and I) attempt to make contact with the whole of one's being. After all, we don't refer to ourselves as "human brains" or "human bodies" but as human beings. This is why talk therapy participates in healing the body, but it also explains why attention to the body can help heal what we generally call mental illness. And in the midst of it all, feelings are the endlessly rich source of information that help connect thinking to the body.

Dr. Stephen Rochefort is a registered psychologist with a practice in forensic and clinical psychology. He offers professional psychological services based out of Coquitlam, British Columbia. Dr. Stephen provides assessment, treatment, and consultative services. He offers services to address a diverse range of concerns including anxiety, depression, phobias, grief, abuse, domestic violence, trauma, self-harm, suicidality, eating disorders, and personality disorders. In the forensic realm, Dr. Stephen offers risk assessment, psychological evaluation, and treatment services in the areas of criminal and civil forensics.

Dr. Limbos is a registered psychologist who specializes in child psychology, working with children, youth and their families. Our objective is to help children realize their full potential through psychological assessment and treatment. Dr. Limbos has a broad range of experience in clinical and school psychology and will conduct a comprehensive assessment, and formulate a treatment plan for children who present with issues including the following: learning disabilities, giftedness, developmental/intellectual disabilities, autism, ADHD, behavior difficulties, depression, anxiety, adjustment difficulties, self-esteem, divorce, and substance abuse. Dr. focuses on providing timely and professional services for children, adolescents and their families.

I am not currently accepting new individual clients directly. However, I am working with new clients in group therapy and offer groups for those who have lost a loved one in a traumatic way (e.g., murder, suicide, accident, unforeseen or untimely circumstance, etc); for those struggling with chronic pain; for those wishing to process trauma; for those interested in mediation; for teachers struggling with burnout; and for students in a Master's Degree program studying counselling, or new to the field of counselling. I also supervise students who offer reduced rate sessions for $42/session.

We exclusively use EMDR with all of our clients at every age. We are now offering EMDR Intensives which is an accelerated way to do multiple hours of EMDR in a short period of time. We are client-centred, trauma-informed practitioners and our goal in every session is to create a safe, supportive, accepting environment which allows our clients to be themselves. In this authentic and safe space real change can occur. We believe in the life-changing benefits of EMDR for all ages. We respect our client's unique backgrounds and stories and foster a collaborative relationship to better create meaningful therapeutic goals.
