On the surface you put on a brave face, but you’re exhausted and can’t ignore the pressure of your built-up emotions. You’re tired of falling back into your old patterns of behaviour and you’re looking for ways to reconnect with yourself, identity and values.

I've been working as a counsellor for five years now and truly enjoy the opportunity to work with all clients hoping to develop a stronger sense of self and/or work through various life challenges. I have a particular interest in life transitions such as graduation, career change, or the end of a relationship. Depression and anxiety are also areas of session focus. I see great power in identifying core values, areas of strength and areas for growth. I use this knowledge to help clients create positive change. These unique times require an adaptive mindset and I'm here to help clients find solutions that move them forward.

Life can be really challenging. I believe that everyone has a unique story and I consider it a gift to be able to work with clients to pursue healing, wellness and fullness as they navigate through life’s challenges. For the past 12 years I have been helping people work through trauma and both the past and present impact this can have on us. I have personally dealt with anxiety for over 20 years so I understand the challenges that can come with overall mental health. Through the years I have accumulated many tools and techniques to help overcome the stressors of everyday life.

I have more than 20 years of clinical experience helping adolescents and adults to achieve significant improvements managing their symptoms and emotional distress, while at the same time realizing more accurate perspectives, and creating more assertive choices in their lives, as well as in their personal and professional relationships.
Based on the belief that: "we all have our own answers", I focus my efforts to provide a professional, non judgmental and non critical space, where people can safely engage in a process of self reflection and discovery through which they can increase their self awareness, and learn how to access their own answers and solutions to a wide range of mental health concerns and challenging life situations.

Every hu man being is worthy of respect, entitled to a dignified life, and is a subject of rights.
Thank you for taking a moment to look at my profile. I am a clinical counsellor who primarily provides care to populations that have more difficulty accessing health services. I am referring to people living in small towns and rural areas, the population that has an aversion to the healthcare system due to having previously faced barriers and prejudices, and also to populations who often find it difficult to access the system itself, such as immigrant and refugee communities. Beyond the principles that guide clinical practice, in the therapeutic space that I strive to provide, perhaps my greatest concerns are hope and hu man dignity.

My vision is to support Individuals, Couples and families to discover their fullest potential, to believe in their abilities, to strengthen that self-trust and confidence in their lives. With that, they will be able to - Respond and remember the truth and trust in themselves when those struggles of life show up - express it in a healthy way, not holding on to it and have it negatively affect their relationship with themselves and others around them. Learn and have the tools to cope and express. In counselling, we start to heal the beliefs that keep each and every one of us separate, and we walk towards intimacy and connection.

I'm glad you are reaching out. It can be tough finding the right therapist. Relationships can be very tough. Stress, kids, affairs, grief and trauma can create a distance between us and the people we love. We can cause a lot of harm to those closest to us and end up wondering how we got to where we are. This is the focus of my work. There is hope, even when things feel like they are at the very end.

I have successfully worked with 100's of people-single, married, divorced, separated, parents, military people, children, adolescents, from many ethnicities, countries and walks of life from corporate executives to professional race car drivers to military members to moms, dads, teachers, other counselors, doctors, lawyers, all types of students.
Most of us are yearning for more out of life and our relationships. We yearn for more freedom, more choice, more love, more adventure, more willingness to risk, more contribution, more peace, more belonging. Clients say that as a result of seeing me for therapy, they experience themselves as having a renewed sense of purpose, direction, more freedom, peace, energy, vitality and a stronger connection to their own life force. I am unique from others in my field because I have devoted my life to learning how to help my clients actually transform what is holding them back rather than just talking about it.

Initial few sessions would look into managing and dealing with the symptoms that are causing the concern.
My name is Rejoe Mohan and I am the Co-Founder of Mind Always Matters. It can be a challenge to reach out for mental health assistance when we are feeling anxious, distressed or depressed. I really appreciate you for looking out for assistance. That itself, shows the inner strength you have. I did my first Masters in Psychology from India and there for 3 years. I then moved to Canada and did my second Masters in Counselling Psychology. My goal is to provide a safe and welcoming space for you, so that we could explore and heal from the past trauma and pain that might have impacted you and to live a meaningful life in the moment.

Male Counsellors

As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?

There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.

How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?

Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client. Prospective clients should also ask what the expectation is for treatment, and what the fee structure is, and whether and which insurance plans are accepted.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?

Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with a male therapist. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges, in the case of male clients. Some women have prior negative experiences with women that predispose them to prefer working with a male in therapy. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.

Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?

Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
