You’re a new parent whose relationship before kids is a distant memory. You don’t know how the happy vision of starting a family together turned into arguing about packing diaper bags and lunches and silent evenings on opposite sides of the couch. You don’t have energy to go on a date let alone take care of yourself. In fact, I bet you’re reading this profile during the few moments that your tiny humans are asleep. You’re exhausted, and you don’t know how you will find time to dedicate towards therapy, but you know something has to change. If it doesn’t, you’re worried about the consequences for your relationship or your children.

However much we may seek stability, life is a series of interconnected transitions. Sometimes we face complex changes that seem unworkable and challenges that appear impossible. Learning how to deal with the ongoing changes of our lives promotes personal growth and deepens our sense of pupose and fulfillment. With tools and support you can navigate these changes and establish a sense of safety and stability with a deeper, even more fulfilling sense of personal wholeness. Together, we can activate the internal resources that will help you to move forward with confidence. You will know when this therapy is successful.

I wholeheartedly believe in every human's potential to rise above the things bringing them down and create a life worth living. When I get the privilege to work with people in counselling, my top priority is to create a space that reflects your unique needs and personal goals.

In my practice I value the opportunity to work with individuals who are experiencing grief and loss, depression and anxiety, parenting and family challenges, and the impacts of trauma. As a clinical counsellor and a mother I offer support to women throughout motherhood, addressing concerns for postpartum depression and anxiety, transitioning to motherhood, intimate partner challenges, burnout, pregnancy and postpartum loss, and processing birth trauma. I work in collaboration with the client to explore the issues and to support their emotional wellbeing and personal growth.

Building a collaborative relationship on the path we take together is my priority.
My focus is strongly influenced by a person-centered therapy approach to wellness through different methods such as Eco-therapy or expressive art therapy techniques and using the natural elements available to us should the sessions call for such an approach. Reducing stress and anxiety to create a more peaceful person inside who can claim their meaning and be more joyful in life is a difficult path to walk alone. I am here to help and be part of the healing journey. I have completed my diploma in April of 2023 and plan to continue my education and training to better serve the clients I take on as I evolve as a counsellor.

Whether you're navigating relationship issues, transitioning through life changes, or grappling with anxiety, you do not have to do it alone. Counselling helps us to understand our own desires, past experiences, and vulnerabilities, this is what lays the groundwork for meaningful connection with others. Counselling is a courageous journey with a companion who holds the flashlight.

I work with clients whom wish to push the boundaries of “normal” to uncover & deconstruct the root causes of their suffering. Many of the people that I work with are dealing with major depression, anxiety, grief, relationship issues, and overall frustration with the current state of society and the environment. The clients that I see often present to me with symptoms such as feeling blocked, overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, alone, and powerless in their life. I support clients to transform their pain into strength so that they can live a more fulfilled life.

Relationship and communication skills are essential tools for navigating the complexities of life, and are a particular focus of my practise.
I agree with Carl Roger's position that all humans are oriented towards growth and self-awareness. Behaviours which once served to nurture and protect us, can become habitual and no longer useful. You are the expert in your life, and if you are seeking counselling, it is likely because what once worked is no longer serving you. In times of transition, whether by choice or demand, we often find ourselves needing new skills to cope with our anxiety, depression, panic or burnout. Our relationships are deeply impacted by our ability to communicate our needs, desires, and boundaries, and yet we are taught so few of these skills.

You are feeling stuck. You may be navigating some form of life transition such as a recent move, job change, loss of an important relationship, new parenthood, or retirement. Perhaps you are noticing that with this change come feelings of overwhelm, anxiousness, depression and possibly grief. The feelings are real. And they are painful. You feel disconnected from the person you know you want to be. Yet the pain is getting in the way of moving forward. I am here to help you become unstuck.

I'm Angela and I've been told that I'm approachable, warm and down-to-earth. Many of my clients come in saying that they had a "pretty good" upbringing. I create a space for you to explore whether it might be more complex. Relational wounds need relational repair. It’s essential to have a trustworthy guide in the journey back to your own inner wisdom. I believe that a good guide can help you to identify where nurturance, protection and guidance were lacking when you needed them most and also help you look at how this might still affect your relational patterns today and invite you towards more satisfaction in love, work and sex.

I help people learn to forgive themselves for the things they had to do in order to survive. I believe that when we feel safe in our body and free from the shackles of our past, we can create our dream reality. By honouring our sensitive nature, and creating a safe space to explore, we can set our inner child free - inviting playfulness, humour, and curiosity to the healing process. We are not what has happened to us, we are who we choose to become. I'm here to help you discover who you truly are on a soul level.

Wanting to create a better life rather than settling for status quo, just getting by while filled with anxiety and feelings of hopeless; coping with excess food, drugs or alcohol. It takes courage and tremendous willingness to begin a path of change and it is an honour and a joy to walk with people on their journey toward wholeness. My work with people often leaves me in awe of the strength of the human spirit as I witness them overcome trauma and self-destructive behaviours and move toward their dreams while embracing their authentic self.

In my sessions, I want clients to feel truly listened to. Therapy, in my view, is a space for a client to experience empathetic and genuine attention which may be rarely found in everyday life. With this kind of attention, people can face problems and develop strengths much more easily than on their own. Ultimately, my goal is to help people get to the point at which they can manage their mental health without me, by using the tools and skills we develop during our sessions.

Relationship Issues Counsellors
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
