Do you feel a lack of emotional and physical intimacy in your relationship with your partner? Are you getting pulled into the same argument over and over again? Do you find yourself thinking or saying “They don’t ever spend time with me,” “They never hug me anymore,” or “I don’t talk to them because I’m scared of their response?” Do these experiences leave you feeling like you don’t matter, your partner doesn’t care, or you’re not good enough? Maybe these feelings have been years in the making or perhaps there was a breach of trust that changed the trajectory of your relationship. If so, you’re in the right place.

Do you feel stuck and disconnected? I support individuals and couples in addressing their well-being and feel more connected. With empathy, compassion, and deep understanding, I hope to create a safe, warm, and non-judgmental environment where you feel comfortable to explore your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. As we are all social animals who need to be seen and heard in our relationships; we can only feel complete when we have authentic connections.

I have been a mental health counsellor/therapist for over 25 years. In my experience, two very important factors in therapy are trust and safety. I believe trust is earned by the therapist and safety is experienced by the client as therapy progresses. What I have learned from my clients is that even when they experienced hopelessness at first, change was possible, and when there was change, no matter how small, they felt hopeful. My aim is to support clients and help them identify and achieve their short and long term goals, at school, at work, in their family and private lives.

Too often I hear stories of people struggling in silence, battling inner thoughts and not knowing what to do with them. Shrouded in fear and shame, they do their best to navigate their daily lives hoping things will get better, but sometimes the struggle continues. Seeing a counsellor can help ease this burden. Whether it's about relationships, careers, family or personal challenges, talking to a trusted counsellor can be the start of offloading these troubling thoughts and allowing space for clarity, growth and direction.

Life can be difficult and it takes resilience to work through challenging experiences. Part of your resilience may include reaching out for support. Psychotherapy can help facilitate new perspectives about the challenges we face and our ability to navigate unsettling life events and emotional states. It can support our capacity to make sense of suffering with increased compassion and acceptance and, ultimately, live with more ease and joy.

I believe that each person has the ability to improve their life; to become closer to who they want to be. No problem is too difficult to face with the right kind of support. Many people are suffering on their own or feeling stuck in patterns that keep them from having the life they want. Counselling can change this.
