In just one session, my clients became happy and relieved again for his work related stress and anxiety, difficult life decisions or recovered from the grief and loss that has been bothering her for 6+ months. Yes, I am the counsellor who you just need to talk to for a professional advice. Others come to me for short-term service to gain knowledge and skills to deal with relationship, parenting, marriage or emotional regulation issues. They found the practical skills they gain to be life changing. For others, they see me for long term and regular support for self-growth and development. They became a better version of themselves.

Are you tired of the repetitive cycle of talk therapy which may bring short term relief but fails to provide lasting change? Are you exhausted from the overwhelming grip of anxiety or haunted by the ghosts of past traumas? Do low self-esteem and depression relentlessly hold you back, making life feel unmanageable? Unquestionably, these issues present immense challenges, but there is hope.

I understand that it is not easy to ask for help and to be vulnerable. Most days you feel good because you know you're good enough but some days you believe no matter how hard you try, you will never be good enough. This impacts your self esteem and view of self. Those around you see you as confident but internally you ruminate over thoughts and battle with a negative inner critic. Sometimes you second-guess yourself at work, over a decision you made, and other times you worry about what others think. You want to reduce your self-doubts and build your self esteem. You are worthy and deserve the same kindness you show to others.

You’ve probably spent a lot of time trying to fix things on your own, but maybe you’ve reached a point of exhaustion. You might be feeling overwhelmed, self-critical, & alone. You don’t know what else you can do to make yourself feel better, or how to keep up with the challenges you’re facing. Maybe there are cultural & social challenges that are making your situation worse. Maybe you're tired of running around in circles & have made the decision to see a counsellor so you don’t continue to feel like you’re “going crazy”.

Children and families are often referred to me by other counsellors or health professionals because "the kid refuses to talk or cooperate" or "we tried everything and nothing works". Families often seek my specialties to explore their children's behaviours and challenges from the developmental lens. Neurodivergent children look forward to seeing me because they feel I am safe, and fun, and can easily connect with them in a special and meaningful way. I cannot work with autistic children receiving ABA treatment as it is contraindicative with my strong commitment to neurodiversity affirmative and disability ethical principles.

Does this sound like you and your relationship? You fight in circles about the same (petty) things and don’t know how to make it better. Minor disagreements can erupt into full-blown arguments. You walk on eggshells to avoid conflicts. You don’t feel the same connection and closeness to your partner. You wonder if this is it…or if there is hope for your relationship. If you are feeling tired, hopeless, and exasperated, you’re in the right place. I help couples stop vicious cycles of fights and start communicating in a healthy and effective way, so both partners feel heard and understood; restoring trust and connection in your bond.

I came into this field by accident, but after realizing the importance of relationships I stayed. My background is in working with youth, and families, aiming to meet you where you are at in your journey. Having experienced culture-clash myself, I know how hard it can be to find wellness and belonging when incongruence exists at home. Clients of all demographics are welcome.

Going through separation and divorce is a rough process. The yelling, the tears or the fights that happen in the house is keeping you up at night and/or make you worry about your future. It is already difficult to discuss what belongs to who at this point, not to mention there are children involved. You want your children to be ok, but not sure how. Things that your partner said or did in the past seem to be stuck in your head and make you angry or sad. You want peace, you want no conflict and a way out of this emotional disaster. Talk to me, I am here to listen.

I hope to be able to create a safe space so we can explore your outlook and feelings in an effective way so that you can learn how to navigate the world with a strong sense of connection to yourself and those around you.

Hello! I'm Meredith MacKenzie and I help women who feel out of control with food, tired of swinging from dieting to binge eating, leading to feel shame about their eating. You know the ins and outs of "healthy eating" but it just doesn't seem to work, and you blame yourself. You want freedom from food, to be able to eat what you love without overeating, and have a better relationship with your body. You want to be more attuned to your hunger and fullness cues and at peace with food, so you can more fully participate in your life without your feelings about your body or emotional eating looming over you. You deserve more.

“Life is suffering”, the Buddha famously said, and now, more than ever, this seems to be true. But it doesn’t have to be this way, at least not all of the time. While I may never know the full extent of your situation, I can be sure of two things – you have suffered and a part of you believes it is possible for things to be better. I am here to assist you on your journey to better, however that may look for you.
