Additionally, I guide clients through navigating other conflicts that life presents, from toxic relationships to codependency to suicidal ideation.
Whatever has brought you here - the weariness of depression, the struggle of addiction, the heaviness of anxiety, the uncertainty of life in its entirety - I welcome you. Whether you have experienced a trauma, are going through a life transition, or just need someone to talk to, someone who will listen without judgement or scorn, my passion and goal as a clinician is to hold the space for you, walk with you through the darkness, guide you to peace and well-being, and help you to live a life you love.

Visualize breaking free from codependency, where you prioritize your own needs while maintaining meaningful, balanced relationships.
You might feel trapped in a cycle of emotional exhaustion. Trusting others may seem impossible after past hurts, leaving you yearning for connection yet keeping people at a distance. If codependency has taken over, you might be so focused on others that your own needs have been forgotten, draining your energy and sense of self. And perhaps the fear of aging brings a constant anxiety about what lies ahead. These struggles are real, and it’s okay to feel overwhelmed. But imagine waking up each day feeling truly secure in your relationships, confident in your identity, and hopeful about the future.

I've worked with a wide range of clients, from youth to adults, and am comfortable with people from all walks of life. I'm familiar with codependency, addiction, and the recovery process. I'm quite well-versed in nervous system education, and can support emotional regulation, stress reduction, updating negative thought patterns, overcoming creative blocks, and striking a more harmonious work-life balance. If you relate to any of these, let's talk!

Does this sound like you and your relationship? You fight in circles about the same (petty) things and don’t know how to make it better. Minor disagreements can erupt into full-blown arguments. You walk on eggshells to avoid conflicts. You don’t feel the same connection and closeness to your partner. You wonder if this is it…or if there is hope for your relationship. If you are feeling tired, hopeless, and exasperated, you’re in the right place. I help couples stop vicious cycles of fights and start communicating in a healthy and effective way, so both partners feel heard and understood; restoring trust and connection in your bond.

There is always space for self-improvement and growth. It is not always easy to reach out and open your heart and your life to someone. You might be going through tough times, and you might not be able to talk about it with anyone. Depression can take us to dark places and sometimes we might need a bit of a guidance and tools to be able to deal with it and understand it. There might be difficult life transitions that you can come across and you might want your life and your relationships to move to a better place.

No matter what we may be going through in our lives, we should be able to take the time to slow down and take care of our mental, spiritual, and emotional health. Finding a person who can help guide you through those challenges and give you a sense of safety and support is important as we traverse our healing journeys. As a community minded therapist, I bring years of experience with children and youth within the school system, as well as my own lived-experiences as a second generation Filipino-Canadian. This perspective allows me to see the various facets and life circumstances that make you, you!

What therapy types help with codependency problems?

Both couples and family therapy and cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) can help with the relationship difficulties referred to as codependency. Such problems typically include inappropriate feelings of responsibility for a loved one’s destructive behavior, irrational patterns of thinking about such behavior, and family interaction patterns in which the needs of one troubled member override the needs of others in a household.

What happens in therapy for codependency?

Spouses and family members learn and practice how to interact and support each other in a healthy way without sacrificing their own needs or well-being. They learn the limits of their responsibility for their loved ones and correct faulty patterns of thinking and feeling that underlie codependent behavior. Individuals may be encouraged to nurture an array of social relationships and to cultivate their own talents and interests so that they develop a healthy sense of self outside the family.

How does therapy help a person or couple overcome codependency?

Therapy helps people establish healthy ways of being in a relationship. Spouses and family members learn how to nurture and support one another without sacrificing their own needs or allowing the needs of one person to dominate the dynamic. Individuals learn how to say no and set boundaries, and how to maintain their own identity and self-esteem. Therapy helps people understand that they are not responsible for the feelings and actions of others. It also helps individuals deal with the turbulence that can come from living with a person suffering from such conditions as substance abuse and mental illness.

What is the goal of therapy for codependency?

One goal of therapy for codependency is to alleviate feelings of responsibility for and correct irrational patterns of thinking about loved ones whose behavioral problems override the needs of others in a household. Therapy helps people establish healthy boundaries of behavior and speak up for their own needs in a relationship. In addition, people learn how to maintain a healthy relationship, one in which both parties give and receive equally and are able to retain their own identity.
