I truly believe that each person is of immense value and worth. Each time I sit with a client, I feel honoured to be allowed into the sacred place of their inner world. The work of healing and growth is complex and difficult. However, when we are met in our struggles while being truly seen and witnessed, we begin to be able to tolerate more as we come to know our true Self better. I seek to approach people's stories with compassion, curiosity, and authenticity. I am passionate about the opportunity that individuals have for change and growth when they are provided with compassionate care in a non-judgmental and safe environment.

Sometimes you can go through life surrounded by people and still feel completely alone. Although suffering is a universal human experience each person’s response to it is like a kaleidoscope picture. Turn it ever so slightly and the picture shifts completely. I am committed to honouring your unique life’s picture and tailoring my approach to reflect this. I work collaboratively with you, meaning I see us working as partners together to achieve your desired goals.

Do you struggle with feeling disconnected from yourself and others? Do you put your needs last and focus on others? Do you question if life should feel somehow better? You are not alone here. My approach is client-focused, collaborative and optimistic, I view each person as an individual within a family system and can help with difficulties impacting clients biologically, psychologically, socially and spiritually. Pushing away your needs and not taking time for yourself can lead to long-term challenges for your mind and body. I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a better life.

Leaning into our capacity for growth, resiliency, and even joy can feel impossible when we are isolated in pain or distress. Whether you are facing anxiety, overwhelming emotions, or concerns about your relationships, I will provide a space full of warmth, where you are deeply heard, and that fosters meaningful change. Session plans are co-created, exploring your goals and then moving toward them. Change can be longed for and feel terrifying at the same time, bringing up well-founded concerns and questions about the counselling process. I seek to provide a space where those fears are welcomed into the work as well.

I can share with you that even before my training as a social worker, I knew working with children, young people, and families of all designs, brought me joy. Whether this joy came from my early days as a camp counsellor, as a recreation support worker, or from my paid social work employment in supporting families, or working with young people struggling with substance use, or in supporting young people in their challenges with autism, my practice focus has always been in working alongside others to feel less alone, to feel heard, to feel seen.

It takes a tremendous amount of courage to reach out to a stranger for help and support. I believe we all develop strategies for coping with pain and discomfort that often serve well in the moment but not in the long term. Or, we become overwhelmed and unable to cope with the difficult demands and circumstances life throws our way. Counselling is ultimately a conversation in a safe, non-judgmental space to help you process, validate, heal, reframe, and develop strategies to experience life in a new and more meaningful way. I am an Internal Family Systems therapist with training in EMDR.

People come to a place in their lives where they have been wounded in their relationships or experiences. Everyone has their story that has caused them to be in the place they are currently. And sometimes parts of our story interfere with us being able to move forward. We may find ourselves irritable, cranky, depressed, snappy, sarcastic, anxious, defensive, sensitive and protective. All of which are coping strategies for the hurt that has been suffered. These coping stances interfere with connections which is opposite of what we are longing for. All of us our craving to be in relationship.

Know that it is my purpose to meet you wherever you are at and work together with you in a way that is meaningful, helpful, and healing. Because all of us are unique, it is important for me to work with each client based on their personal needs. I want to tailor counselling to suit you. However, I do draw from a variety of counselling approaches and tools. Some of these include EFT, Person-Centered Therapy, CBT, and Narrative Therapy.
