I am an EMDRIA Certified EMDR therapist, and EMDRIA Approved Consultant. I have been working with trauma survivors since 2000 and provide consultation to other EMDR therapists. As an EMDR specialist, I primarily treat anxiety, depression, & PTSD re: accidents, historical abuse, war, violence, sex crimes, bullying, lateral violence, illness or death.
Often, traumatic experiences cause our nervous systems to go into survival mode: a fight, flight or freeze response. When these traumatic events are not processed, they become locked in short term memory. These memories can be triggered even years later, causing a reliving of the initial trauma. Processing those traumas holistically can provide real freedom.
