Sometimes life can all add up and we find ourselves wondering “how did I get here?” or feeling stuck, not knowing what direction to take our first step. That is where therapy can help. My approach to therapy is that of genuine care and compassion balanced with gentle nudging towards the life you want to live. How do you want to show up to the world? to yourself? The answer may not be all that clear right now, but if you choose, I would be honored to walk alongside you on your therapeutic journey as you gain an understanding of your stuck points, build on coping skills, reach your goals and come out the other side of the tough stuff.

Hi! My areas of interest and expertise include working with people who have survived trauma and sexual abuse. Initially, I build rapport and a trusting relationship with you. One of our first tasks will involve identifying your strengths and what’s important to you; these are major components of allowing successful trauma processing and resolution to occur. I also enjoy working with adolescents; having once been a teen in need of additional support, I am able to empathize and quickly connect with young people. Other topics I support clients with are BPD, anger management, suicidal ideation, and self-esteem.

Clients come to me when they (or their loved ones) are dealing with anxiety, depression, behavioural challenges, mood swings, challenging life events, flash backs, PTSD, or childhood trauma. I use Brainspotting, EMDR, Creative Arts therapy and other strength-based approaches to help clients build confidence, self-understanding, and concrete strategies to manage the challenges of daily life. My clients learn about the brain-body connection of their distress and challenges, building positive skills to be able to manage life’s stresses and become less overwhelmed by emotional triggers.

I am a registered clinical social worker and I have had the pleasure of working with youth and families for over 20 years. I use a collaborative approach in treatment to individual youth and to families grounded in evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as well as Structural Family Therapy. These approaches respect the client/family and the therapeutic relationship. At some point in our lives, we all feel overwhelmed, confused, stuck, or lost. These times can increase our stress and anxiety. In those times, we need understanding, validation, safety, and support to overcome our challenges. I aim to provide you with a safe place to share and process your current challenges. With a deeper understanding, we can then work together towards learning new skills and strategies that can help you move forward, build resilience, and better cope with any future obstacles.

I primarily work with those in relationships, both romantic and families, aiming to help people learn how to grow well in life individually and together. If you would like to strengthen a stagnant marriage, hedge against divorce, improve communication, or recover from an affair, I can help. I also work with children (ages 6 and up), teenagers, and family units navigating parenting issues, emotion regulation, ADHD, and trauma. Although I specialize in marriage and familes, I love working with individuals battling mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, past trauma, grief, addictions, and more.

I work with individuals from all walks of life but I specialize in helping neurodivergent individuals navigate the struggles that come with ADHD and Autism, such as masking and burnout. I also work with parents coping with the challenges that come with raising neurodivergent children.
