I completed a Master of Science in Neuroscience and Mental Health from King's College London, and am completing my practicum hours at Yorkville University's MACP program. Understanding the neurobiology of mental health provides a different perspective to my clients. Through that, I can provide multifaceted services to my clients to help engage both physiological and psychological understanding of their mental health. Knowledge is power, and by gaining our power, we begin to heal.
I am under the supervision of Shelley Briscoe-Dimock, Ph.D., RP, RSW, RMFT-SM. Currently training to work with individuals, couples and families. My areas of competence include working with Anxiety, Depression, Stress and Burnout, Grief and Loss, Life Adjustments, Spiritual Issues, and Couple/Relationship Issues
Many of us find challenges in identifying where we stand within our society, culture, relationships and beliefs. As a Muslim Iraqi immigrant woman, I'm aware of the stigmas that fall within society, and I want to use my cultural competence acquired through my education, clinical and lived experience to help clients struggling with their mental health.
