I primarily work with individuals (16+) experiencing symptoms of anxiety & depression (ADHD, OCD, GAD).
People see you as dependable, organized, and always smiling. Someone they can always rely on for help or support, someone who will always make time for other's. But on the inside you feel like a fraud, overwhelmed, exhausted from trying to keep up this charade, and even resentful at times.

Accepting new clients! Your thoughts never stop, you have a permanent pit in your stomach, and life feels both overwhelmingly busy, yet empty at the same time. You do your best to manage the constant anxiety spirals about school, work, friends, your body, your relationship, and/or the future, but the relief you get from scrolling social media, drinking/smoking/eating, and pushing your thoughts away is temporary. Everyone keeps telling you "you just need to try harder/be less lazy/stop worrying!" but you feel that's all you are ever trying to do! Exhausting, isn't it? Let's chat about how we can shift this.

For over 15 years I've supported people as they've coped through depression, anxiety, and the implications of past traumatic experiences.
You are feeling so overwhelmed that it's hard to remember what "good" felt like. Some days you wonder if you ever actually felt good. On top of it all the pressures of everyday life haven't just disappeared and you feel stretched with not enough down time. The minor challenges you felt in your life suddenly feel insurmountable. You feel lost - maybe even angry - and dread an uncertain future. While many people feel a little down, frustrated, anxious, and stressed at times, you feel so lost that its hard to imagine that you'll ever feel like the best version of yourself ever again. You feel like you are at the end of your rope.

Though I work with people presenting with a wide variety of issues, my areas of focus are trauma and PTSD, stress and anxiety, and life transitions, like new adulthood, new parenthood, mid-life, and retirement.

Or maybe you're in a new phase of life and it's nothing like you thought it would be. You feel exhausted and unhappy, your relationships are starting to feel the strain, and it feels like things are spiralling, but you're not sure how to change it. You don't have to figure it out alone. I can help. Whether you're seeking stress relief, symptom management, deep healing, or more fulfillment in your life, I can help you start on the path forward today.

My work includes (but is not limited to) helping PTSD, depression, and anxiety.
Hello, and welcome. I'm happy you're here. We move through the world as a sum of our experiences. Some of these experiences have made us feel unsafe, unsettled, or even unappreciated. It’s difficult to live and move when you don’t feel right in your own skin. Do you have goals, plans, or needs that aren't addressed? Let's look at them together. I'm straightforward and compassionate in my approach. I'm convinced what matters is authenticity and being real together while holding space for tender work. American Psychologist Stephen Porges has said “feeling safe is the treatment and creating safety is the work”.

For over the past 15 years, I have supported people who experience anxiety, depression, substance use, grief, parenting challenges and relational/developmental wounds and trauma.
I believe that everyone is doing their best at any given moment and that everyone has the ability to heal. Many people I work with are tired of old patterns of behaviours, thoughts and beliefs interfering in their lives. They hold a curiosity about wanting to learn more about their emotions, relationships with others and their inner world. With compassion, I support individuals to engage in exploring how such patterns, thoughts and beliefs are held within the body, impacting their relationship with themselves and others.

In individual psychotherapy, my training involves providing coping skills to clients with anxiety, faith and ethnic/cultural identity integration.
Do you feel alone in your relationship or exhausted by life's constant demands? Do you feel like your relationship is in shambles? Do you feel desperate to be understood by your significant other? Sometimes it feels like all you do in your relationship is argue and fight. And you don't like the person you and your partner are becoming. Change IS possible and there IS a way forward. Peace of mind, peace in the home & restoration can be goals we will work on together, with a clear plan, toward hope and true harmony.

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
