My therapeutic approach in my clinical practice is based upon an initial assessment of Client's core values, sense of meaning and identity . It is my experience that people of all stripes seek interior / spiritual balance. Assisting them in the areas that they identify as challenges; feeling overwhelmed, a want of vision and/or control, depression, grieving losses, stress, anxiety, or a sense of aloneness are areas where I can provide my expertise to help them along the path of healing, wellness, and purposefulness.
I have found that a decline in mental health does not restrict one's spiritual ability to exercise agency and experience interior wellness in new ways adapted to one's specific challenges during a personal set back. Instead, facilitating a balanced, healthy sense of self and revisiting one's core values supports the direction of therapy.
The direction of therapy within my areas of expertise are psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive processing psychotherapy, grief counselling, and narrative therapy. I am happy to integrate religious values into therapy. Equine assisted psychotherapy, ecotherapy, meditation, sports therapy, and discernment in decision making are other approaches I support.
