My approach to psychotherapy is based in the belief that we, as people, possess the strength and resources necessary to make positive, helpful changes in our lives. My goal is to help my clients develop solutions to the problems life can present, building resilience and coping skills, reconnecting with their values, and thinking critically (and compassionately) about their own distress processes. In other words: to develop their own compassionate inner-therapist. I strive to create a space with clients that is collaborative, accepting, non-judgmental, and authentic, which I view as essential to the therapeutic relationship.
I work with adults and young adults dealing with a variety of issues, including: mental health-related disability, depression, anxiety, developmental disorders such as ADD/ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder, trauma, and substance abuse.
I understand well that life presents us with challenges that can leave us feeling stuck, uncertain, and anxious - often despite our very best efforts.
