I specialize in helping individuals improve the relationship they have with themselves and with other people, whether that's family, partners, colleagues, or children. All too often, self-criticism is hindering our growth and is an automatic response that depletes us emotionally and physically. I bring a decade of experience with self-compassion and mindfulness that improves coping, self-understanding, and connection. I view therapy holistically and consider the mind-body connection when treating anxiety, perfectionism, and stress. I am warm and direct, and I value tough questions and new perspectives as much as I value humor.

Hello! Are you feeling stuck, not quite yourself, or unfulfilled? Are you struggling with emotional regulation caused by anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma? I have over 25 years of experience working in the mental health field. My journey started with working with children, adolescents, adults, groups, and families years ago. As I worked closely with people over the years, I realized I wanted to offer more to people in a more profound, more meaningful way, which now has me working as a therapist who provides trauma-informed care to people of all ages. I offer people the care, connection, and support they seek.

Therefore, I am passionate about helping clients find their strength and potential, and work towards a healthier mental state. My focus is to find the best approach and tools based on each client’s needs in a safe and non-judgmental space, bringing empathy, compassion, and genuineness. My experience is that we all deal with difficulties in our lives, perhaps one of the most damaging messages we receive early on is that we need to do it all alone and it's defeating feeling stuck and not knowing where to start. There's a pressure to change and do things differently, and succeed at everything, but as a person you live in a context that contributes to the problems you're facing. Change is hard and it happens through experimenting, failing and learning and it helps when gentle support and acceptance is present.

I believe that our mind, body and spirit hold the key to our emotional wellbeing. Somewhere along the way into adulthood, this connection between the head, the heart, and the body falter and begin to cause us distress. People lose the ability to "trust their gut" or are unable to identify what they are feeling during particular times of loss or conflict. My approach aims to identify where the disconnect is, and work collaboratively to bring all three back into focus. It is said "the longest journey you will ever make is from your head to your heart" and my goal is to support people as they take the steps needed to get there.

Life is a complex experience, and you know that first-hand. You know you want things to be different, you’re craving change, but maybe you just don’t know how to get there. I know what it’s like to be always trying to make sense of painful life experiences. It wasn’t until I reconciled with my trauma that I could put the puzzle pieces together. With non-judgmental support to redefine myself, I was finally able to break the patterns that were keeping me from my authentic/true self in order to build the life I wanted.

We have all been there, stuck, devastated, sad, fearful, confused, angry, unmotivated, lacking confidence and wondering how to take the next step in our lives. Sometimes the people in our lives are not there in the way we need them to be. Our past may be getting in our way or our anxiety about the future is not allowing us to live in the present. We may lack motivation, our relationships may be troubled, or we might feel at a crossroads unable to make decisions. The truth is that life does not always happen in the way we want it to happen and there is no script to help us navigate it.
