I work with individuals from all walks of life, including children, adolescents and adults. I’m a firm believer in providing a safe, empathetic space for your to share your story. As a registered psychiatric nurse, I have worked with individuals dealing with substance use, mood and anxiety disorders, those affected by others’ substance use, as well as youth trauma. I have training in play based therapy, with a special interest in sand tray activity, and value the power that play can have when working with children.
I use a genuine, strength based approach to help guide to a place of awareness, exploring challenges, and refocusing thoughts. I have training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Brief Therapy. Additionally, I have training in therapeutic play and work to build rapport and encourage sharing through play.
I aim to ensure my office is a space where you can examine your thoughts, feel comfortable sharing and owning your story, and developing a better understanding of yourself. Our play room is child centered, and encourages children to become comfortable with releasing of emotions through exploration of play and activities.
