Have you been experiencing seemingly uncontrollable compulsions and urges to engage in behaviors you know you may regret later? At its core, addiction is defined as continuing doing something despite seeing clearly negative consequences of your behaviors. You feel as if something prevents you from taking decisive actions that are based on your values. I have successfully helped people suffering from sex addictions, alcohol addiction and drug addiction. I believe that you deserve a better life where you regulate your emotions and urges and not the other way around.

In Alberta, I am one of only a few therapists to have completed the ComB training - this is currently the gold standard cognitive behavioural approach to managing BFRBs.
Hair pulling and skin picking can be very challenging to manage independently - they are highly complex behaviours. Often these Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviours (BFRBs) result in shame and guilt. They can be isolating and worrisome. You may feel alone, but you are not. I specialize in treating BFRBs. I also regularly work with clients who have anxiety, obsessions and compulsions (OCD), impulsivity, and individuals who lack confidence (work, studies, relationships). As a Clinical Psychologist (22 years), my approach will help you to experience positive change in the short-term, and learn how to sustain this change in the long-term.

Have you noticed that you haven’t felt like yourself lately or maybe you can’t remember the last time you did? Is it difficult to connect with loved ones or yourself? Have you been wondering is this all there is to life, wishing for something, anything, to change? You are not alone, feelings of anxiety and depression have left people across the world feeling overwhelmed and lost in how to manage relationships, careers, and their lives. This often leads to pushing away your needs and not taking time for yourself, leading to long-term issues for your mind and body. I believe it shouldn’t be so hard to live a better life.

Whether you are hoping to address issues related to your career, your family, or your relationships, or you wish to overcome problems like depression, anxiety, stress management, or grief, I do my best to provide a non-judgemental space for people to work on those issues. I also provide formal assessment services, if you would like to achieve a better understanding of your issues. Finally, some of my clients also need support in managing behaviours that place them (or could place them) in conflict with the law, such as issues related to anger, violence or sexual behaviours.

Outcomes from this work include: improved pain management, improved emotional regulation, increased self-confidence, and increased clarity of self-in-relation.
I work with adults who face challenges associated with traumatic stress, depression, and anxiety. My warm demeanor and gentle repose enhances clients’ abilities to tune into their natural healing capacities. Twenty years of formal meditation training has shaped my therapeutic viewpoints, and I align with relational frame theory (RFT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT): third wave mindfulness-based behavioural therapies. I also work from a somatic, brain-body perspective, using Brainspotting (BSP) to help clients release deeper held traumas. Clinical hypnosis also informs my practice.
