My professional speciality includes supporting people struggling with addictions, abuse, anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, trauma, grief and loss, relationship concerns, behavioral problems, and parenting issues.
I am a culturally affirming Master's level social worker who is passionate about working with diverse populations and creating a non-judgmental space where each client feels heard, respected, and understood. I provide counselling to youth, adults, individuals, couples, and families and I have over 14 years of experience as a clinician on the frontline and in leadership teams. I understand that at times, life’s impacts bring stress, worry, frustration, and anxiety. I work to provide clients with the right support, help, and guidance so that they can cope with challenges and re-discover their path to a more fulfilling life.

I support with issues related to family dynamics, parenting, relationships, communication skills, self-esteem, OCD, grief, anxiety, depression,.
“Smooth seas don’t make good sailors”--It's a bitter truth-- No One escapes the challenges of Life. "What’s the purpose of therapy?” I believe we are all leaders of our own lives. Whether we choose to believe so or not, we are still leading our lives everyday with the choices and decisions we make. We can either decide to make unconscious decisions, or we can finally learn about ourselves, and take charge by making more conscious decisions that will improve the quality of our lives. Therapy is learning about and then empowering that silent leader within you. "Life is a dance between what we can control and realizing what we cannot"

I welcome adults and older adolescents. If you want to improve your ability to manage personal challenges, such as depression, anxiety, stress, grief, relationship difficulties at home or at work, or any life challenge, my services might be the right fit for you. Aside from managing current life challenges, clients often contact me to deal with past negative experiences that are still affecting their lives, such as the death of a loved one, a traumatic event, abuse or assault, or just anything that sticks with them and influences them more than they'd like, I use techniques that quickly reduce or eliminate negative emotions.

My speciality is working with individuals who may be struggling with: trauma, addiction, grief, depression and anxiety, and stress.
Deciding to attend therapy often happens at very difficult times in life and it can be challenging to meet with a stranger to discuss personal issues. I work hard to create a space where a client can feel comfortable enough to engage in the therapeutic process and feel like they are actually getting something out of therapy, more than what they could get from having a chat with a good friend. I am able to offer a client a sense of partnership; that we are continually working towards change. I know clients do better when the therapist is present and engaged and so I work to give you a sense of who I am in our interactions.

Counseling services in: Trauma, Addictions, Grief and Loss, Suicide, Depression, Anxiety, and Personality Disorders.
20 years ago I began work in mental health as respite care. I later completed my professional goals of becoming a psychologist. Today my focus is Trauma and Addictions with youth and adults and experience with Veterans and First Responders. From the moment we are born we search for connection, love, and a sense of belonging. Growing up, in life this journey can be fraught with struggle, trauma, pain, and loss. But there is a silver lining. Amidst adversity we find courage and authenticity. We can find acceptance and the understanding of self compassion and empathy, that leads into true connection with ourselves and others.

I work with all sorts of people, but 2SLGBTQ+ issues and the challenges of being queer in a majority heterosexual world are often the centre of conversation. I focus on helping people to understand and express their identity in the context of the intersection between 2SLGBTQ+ issues and the mental health struggles that accompany this journey, such as anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Many people in and out of the 2SLGBTQ+ community are struggling with anxious or intrusive thoughts, dealing with family rejection or loss, and experiencing depression. It's time to take control of our identities.
