By creating a safe, nonjudgmental, and empathetic atmosphere, I will work along side you to explore and unpack your emotions, thoughts, reactions, and behaviors embodied by your experiences. I will help you make sense of the reasons you are struggling and assist you to think about what might help. Throughout, I employ cognitive approaches grounded in attachment oriented, interpersonal processes.
Navigating life’s problems is like crossing an untamed wilderness. Unsure how to proceed, we venture on, stumble, and eventually make a way through. With enough time our uncertain trail becomes so well worn that walking it is second nature. Sadly, some worn paths don’t lead to the life we wanted. We feel disconnected from our lives, often irritable, in conflict with loved ones, and slipping into self-destructive habits. Making new paths can be daunting, yet doing so fosters feeling in control of yourself and your life, experiencing more connection in your relationships, and finding enduring answers to seemingly unsolvable problems.
