I specialize in understanding the difficulties, stressors, and experiences involved in the perinatal and postpartum period of new parenthood. The process of fertility, loss, pregnancy and postpartum can be isolating. Those times also bring considerable physical, mental, and personal relationship changes, impacting every part of life. Navigating relationships, self-esteem, stress, burnout, depression, anxiety, and trauma is not unique to new parenthood. I also have a focus on young adults and professionals in the medical field, who frequently face intense and exhausting challenges

Stop feeling overwhelmed, start slowing down and feeling like you have room to breathe. Have the life you thought you would have. People see you has someone who has everything together. What they don't see is the toll it takes. You care for everyone else first and have high standards for everything you do. It used to feel good to be able to keep everything running smoothly for everyone. Now, it's starting to make you feel stressed and resentful. You notice you're overreacting, or reacting explosively, then the shame hits. Rather than coping strategies that really work, you choose short term fixes that provide relief in harmful ways.

I recognize that significant positive change requires a shift in how we think, feel, and relate to ourselves and others. If you're seeking a way to thrive rather than to just survive, my integrative approach helps clients who may feel stuck in life or overwhelmed, lacking meaning or purpose, dealing with past hurts and traumas, or simply wanting to live their full potential.

Have you ever asked yourself, "How do I even feel my feelings"? Or wondered how you heal pain from the past? Perhaps you just don't feel like you are living a life you love and are not sure why. I believe that our feelings are always telling us something, but many of us were never taught what to do with those feelings. We can hold onto unresolved feelings from our past which can then impact us in unconscious ways, keeping us from living the lives we want. I work primarily with women and people from the 2S LGBTQ+ community to heal the past and overcome present challenges to move forward more intentionally.

It takes courage to seek help, so I commend you for taking this first step. Although therapy can seem intimidating, I view it as just like any other health service, such as the dentist or chiropractor. Just like how we visit the dentist if we have severe tooth pain or need a routine cleaning, I am here for both your traumatic experiences as well as maintenance sessions. No issue is too small when working with me and my practice, Arcadia Counselling. No one is meant to struggle alone, which is where I come in. Therapy looks different for everyone whether that is a place to unload, learn techniques, or improve your quality of life.
