Feeling stuck? Worried that things won't get better? Have you been putting off more tasks and feeling further behind? Sometimes the stress from our relationships, responsibilities, work and family demands can feel overwhelming. In times of uncertainty, we may find it especially tricky to manage what we used to manage. Feeling demotivated, alone or hopeless can be common experiences after going through adversities or trauma. We may want company but find ourselves taking a step back or feeling anxious to talk with others. We want to feel better in order to do more, but uncertain with where to start.

At Insight, our intake team will help you to choose the right therapist based on their areas of specialty, personality, availability and therapy methods. Your therapist will work in partnership with you to determine the most effective method of therapy, and depending on your concern, together you’ll come up with a plan that makes sense for you. If you’re a very solution focused problem solver, then you might be happy with a short-term goal for therapy. If you like to talk more and really investigate your problems, then a more traditional therapeutic approach may be the best fit.

In life, we can find ourselves challenged in ways we did not expect or anticipate. Life can become difficult and overwhelming to manage at times. In such moments, it can be helpful to seek support from someone who might help unearth possibilities and support you in finding healthier and adaptive ways to manage and cope. It is my belief that developing a strong, trusting, and collaborative therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone to therapeutic success. Through mutual respect, genuine empathy, and trust, individuals can be seen and heard, and encouraged to create the changes they want in their lives.

Update: I am now able to see clients virtually from Saskatchewan (and Alberta). Many of my clients experience their emotions quickly, deeply and for long periods of time. It's not uncommon the situations which bring them to therapy, are actually attempts to solve emotional challenges. Many find relationships confusing and hard to navigate. Overall, my clients describe feeling like everyone else can handle their emotions, yet their experience is painful and problematic. The common goal is being able to better tolerate and manage their emotions/mental health, in order to live the life they want.

Charles Dickens once remarked that “a wonderful fact to reflect upon is that every human is a profound secret and mystery to every other." Despite how unique we all are, we often tend to spend much of our lives suffering, searching for happiness in places we struggle to ever find. Our wounds are the gateways to the most sacred parts of us and when we are open to new possibilities, we find what we had hoped for. It would be my honour to help make those possibilities your present realities.

Finding the right psychologist, someone you can create a meaningful working relationship with, is essential to therapy. I hope to make you feel welcome and supported while exploring challenging areas in your life to find real solutions. Everyone has the potential to live a happy, healthy life. Support from a psychologist can be the missing step toward improving mental health and meeting personal goals. I approach therapy with optimism, understanding that while difficulties and setbacks are inevitable, with the right support, everyone can develop the skills needed to navigate challenges and achieve a more fulfilling life.

So many of us can relate to the experience of feeling stuck. Maybe we've been hurt by loved ones and struggle to feel a sense of trust and connectedness. Some of us feel caught in patterns that aren't serving us, such as anger, racing thoughts, perfectionism, or self-criticism. Intense emotions may overwhelm and confuse us, causing us to spiral or lash out at others. Despite our best efforts and intentions, we may find ourselves unable to change these destructive patterns. We want to stop feeling overwhelmed and out of control. We want to feel understood, accepted, more balanced emotionally and secure with others.

Does life keep catching up with you and knocking you off balance? Maybe you’re weighed down by worry, dread, exhaustion, or pain. Sometimes you look around and wonder, how did I get here? You might not recognize your work, relationships, body or home as they changed while you were busy taking care of everything and everyone else. Your empathy and compassion is a great strength, and yet there is a cost to caring that impacts your health and well-being. I help people with chronic illness, chronic pain, self-esteem, trauma and PTSD to have more energy & enjoy a renewed sense of purpose. It is possible to find a good balance.

Are you stuck feeling revved up, on guard, anxious? Or collapsed, unmotivated, and disconnected? Your nervous system's job is to protect you from harm, and it may be running old programming that keeps you stuck in unhelpful patterns and disconnected from your authentic self. You may have experienced trauma, or had distressing experiences that happened repeatedly over time. Maybe you've worked hard to make sense of your experiences, but struggle to find the deep healing you desire. You may be unsure of how you got so stuck, and want to feel more connected to yourself, your loved ones, and a life of meaning, purpose, and joy.

We all need support and we should never feel like we are alone through our life journey. I encourage people to use what they might believe as negativity and transform it into positivity. It is when we feel most down and vulnerable that opportunities can present themselves. Through 23 years of business consulting and working through a broad range of challenges I leverage these experiences and provide the guidance needed to build new paths forward. I use a personalized, customized therapeutic approach, because we are all unique and need very specific formulas for navigating through life.

Picture a sacred space of human connection that invites you to make room for the complexity of emotions and healing in relationships. In our sessions, I invite you to cozy up with a warm cup of tea, slow down, and reconnect with yourself, practicing self-acceptance through exploration. From a place of gentleness and curiosity, I aim to help you navigate the thoughts, feelings, and sensations that seem too big to carry alone. Because, I believe that healing begins with the permission to embrace our messy, imperfect selves. I also offer trauma-informed movement/yoga classes and group therapy.

I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist whose work centers around strengthening relationships and connections. After working with children, teens, and families for 10+ years, I’ve come to learn that relationship improvement can be an antidote to stress. For couples and families, strengthening relationships might mean working on being more open with one another, learning to share and listen effectively, knowing when and how to set boundaries, and how to respond in difficult situations.
