Life has endless challenges for children, youth and young adults these days. Issues that previous generations didn't even need to think about are now part of every day life for younger generations - cyberbullying, worries about school safety, increased rates of mental health struggles, societal conversations about gender and sexuality... On top of that are the issues that have plagued youth for generations - stress, school, dating, friends, and numerous other issues to wade through day by day. Sometimes it's hard to cope with these things on our own though, and that's where I come in.

Persona Doll groups are therapeutic groups for children between the age of 4 and 7. The groups allow children to interact with the therapist and a life size doll or puppet. The children are able to relate to the puppet who often has similar worries or fears. This aims to reduce children's anxiety, normalize their fears and decrease acting out behaviours. Depending on the age of the children, parents may be a part of the group to help facilitate the process. Currently running online.

You may not show it, but you feel stuck. Your anxiety and fears prevent you from taking steps forward. Instead, you find yourself procrastinating and avoiding. You are consumed by doubt and overwhelmed by worry and unwanted, intrusive, uncontrollable thoughts. You try hard to avoid those thoughts, but they keep coming back. The more you fight them, the stickier they become. You try to tell yourself that the thoughts are meaningless, but somehow you feel you can never be sure. What if after all, something horrible will happen? What if the thoughts mean something important? Your friends and family keep telling you not to worry and explain that everything is just in your head. This reassurance helps for a bit, but very soon you are back to endless "What if? " questions. You tried therapy before. The therapist tried to convince you that what you fear is unlikely to happen and taught you relaxation, breathing, meditation, and thought records. But it didn't help and made you even more hopeless. You'd like to break free from your worries and fears and start living your life. If you are reading this profile, you may be finally considering making a significant change. We are here to help!

Perhaps it started with one or two jarring and disturbing thoughts or images or an unshakable feeling that something wasn't right. Desperate to get rid of this unsettling experience, you performed a behaviour or mental act that you just felt compelled to complete, and at first, it seemed to help. Now you are caught in a vicious cycle where you feel the overwhelming urge to engage in certain thoughts or behaviours over and over in search of relief. You're stuck, and you desperately want to get out. If you can relate, you are not alone. Obsessive-compulsive disorder is an experience that affects 1-2% of the population.
