Starts April 20th 2022 ( 4 weekly sessions) ALL AGES. IN PERSON. TIRED OF HAVING YOUR EMOTIONS RUN YOU? This group is designed for youth and adults who become overwhelmed by their emotions (e.g. distress, sadness, anger), and who may engage in behaviors in response to these emotions that they would like to change (e.g. aggressive behaviors, self-harm, substance abuse, binge eating, spending, gambling, social withdrawal, procrastination). In order to reduce ineffective or harmful coping strategies, four alternative coping strategies are taught. These include mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Dialectical Behaviour Therapy based. (insurance receipts provided)
