Zazie Todd, Ph.D., is an animal behavior expert and award-winning author. She got the world talking about happiness for dogs and cats with her books Wag: The Science of Making Your Dog Happy and Purr: The Science of Making Your Cat Happy. Her third book, Bark! The Science of Helping Your Anxious, Fearful, or Reactive Dog will be published in October 2024. She is the creator of the Companion Animal Psychology blog, where she writes about how to have happy cats and dogs thanks to science.

Todd has a Ph.D. in Psychology (University of Nottingham) and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing (UBC). She graduated with honors from the Academy for Dog Trainers and has an Advanced Certificate in Feline Behavior with Distinction from International Cat Care. She is a multi-species professional member of the Pet Professional Guild and an affiliate member of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior.

Todd grew up in Leeds, in the north of England, and now lives in Maple Ridge, BC, Canada, with her husband, a dog, and a cat.
