Gia Marson, Ed.D., and Danielle Keenan-Miller, Ph.D.
Gia Marson, Ed.D., is a licensed psychologist, consultant, meditation practitioner, and an integrative medicine health coach trained by Duke Integrative Medicine. She has spent the last two decades helping adolescents and adults reach their whole-health goals through her private practice in Malibu, CA, and by conducting trainings, teaching, and providing clinical supervision.
For eight years, Marson served as the founding director of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Counseling and Psychological Services Eating Disorders Program, where she provided clinical services, taught an Intuitive Eating and Body Image class, and coauthored the program’s first collaborative treatment manual. Marson also served as a psychologist on the UCLA Athletic Care Committee, where she worked alongside physicians and trainers to coordinate care for world-class student-athletes. For almost three years, she served as a consultant helping to launch the Nourish for Life outpatient program at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. Earlier in her career, Marson served as a clinician at the Renfrew Center’s intensive outpatient program and the Monte Nido Treatment Center’s residential program.
Currently, Marson is a clinical director for the Breaking the Chains Foundation, a nonprofit that uses art to change the conversation about binge eating disorders. She is also the founder and moderator of the newly launched Intentional Eating Community, an online village where members can take courses, watch exclusive webinars, participate in forums, meet health experts, and connect with peers. Her first book, The Binge Eating Prevention Workbook: An Eight-Week Individualized Program to Overcome Compulsive Eating and Make Peace with Food, was published in September 2020. Dr. Marson recently began an online Intentional Eating Community to support healthy eating.
Danielle Keenan-Miller, Ph.D., is a psychological scientist, teacher, and therapist. Her mission is to disseminate the science behind psychology in a way that directly improves people’s lives. She is the director of the UCLA Psychology Clinic, where she conducts research on psychotherapy, teaches graduate coursework, and trains graduate students to do effective, evidence-based psychotherapy. She has co-authored more than a dozen scientific articles and serves as a member-at-large for the Association of Psychology Training Clinics. Her first book, The Binge Eating Prevention Workbook: An Eight-Week Individualized Program to Overcome Compulsive Eating and Make Peace with Food, was published in September 2020.
Keenan-Miller also has a successful private practice that blends the art and science of therapy. Through her writing, teaching, and practice, she aims to increase access to the information and techniques underlying evidence-based care.
