I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and I have experience in community, public mental health as well as counselling. I enjoy working with young people (12+) as well as adults experiencing a range of challenges. I understand that we all hold our own story, and I enjoy exploring this with people to help understand them on an personal level. I hold a particular interest in working with the LGBTQIA+ community, and people from diverse backgrounds. I have experience in working with anxiety and mood difficulties, relational difficulties, psychosis, trauma, suicidal thoughts, self-harm and identity issues.
My style is warm and empathic, and I aim to understand each person within their particular context, and assist them in making sense of their inner world, while identifying ways to move forward.
I have completed training in, and draw upon evidence-based therapies such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing and am currently completing further training in Cognitive Analytic Therapy. I understand that not one therapy model fits all and believe that a flexible and collaborative approach is needed when embarking on a therapeutic journey.
