With trauma or ongoing stress, survival energy becomes stuck in our nervous system. We might make adjustments, like seeking or avoiding certain types of situations, or clenching certain muscles to dodge tricky feelings or sensations. We believe this keeps us safe from what we fear, but we can also feel trapped in patterns that take a huge toll on our lives, health and relationships. My clients and I work together with sensitivity and compassion to discover ways to gently restore a sense of inner security, peace and passion for life.

Currently open for new referrals. I work from an understanding that many of life's concerns stem from our past experiences in relationships and the structural difficulties that are present in our society. This organizes the way I understand peoples experience and distress and how I seek to understand how we are in relationship, and what fixed patterns get in the way of living a more meaningful and enriching life. I work with warmth and curiosity to help develop a deeper understanding of your area of concern and better make sense of why particular patterns might be causing distress.

As a psychotherapist I create a field, I prepare the ground and the conditions, I set processes in motion, I resonate and synchronise with the rhythm of the person. I help the person to centre inside, to anchor in the body, in the present and in reality. What I am most interested in is the relationship people have with themselves. Most problems that occur in interpersonal relationships have to do with conflict within us. My work is about lowering fears, taking small and big courageous steps, regaining the capacity to love, rebuilding trust in ourselves so that we can find and follow our path.

I can understand that for many taking those first steps to seek professional help it can be quite daunting. I am mindful of the need therefore to set people at ease from the outset. I accommodate what differing clients are looking for from a psychologist ranging from finding solutions and learning strategies to process-oriented approaches that provide the opportunity to safely explore, understand, and heal the emotional pain that often underlies psychological stress and problematic behaviour.
