In our most vulnerable moments, having a safe and non-judgmental place to not only talk about our issues, but to tune into and experience them, is really important. I am interested in getting to understand not only your story, but how that story impacts your life in the here and now. I enjoy journeying alongside people from difference cultures, backgrounds and beliefs, and in experiences such as anxiety or depression, life transition, stress, struggles with boundaries, burnout, trauma, and spiritual and religious issues.

Hi, my name is Melanie. I am a registered clinical psychologist and couples therapist with she/her pronouns working on Wurundjeri land. I completed a Doctor of Psychology (Clinical) and am a member of the APS. I have experience working with a diverse range of people from all walks of life and strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space for all my clients. Hi, I'm Danni (she/her). I am a Melbourne / Naarm based psychologist & registered play therapist. I specialise in child therapy, using play to nurture a child’s sense of self. My practice is client-led and trauma-informed, with a focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship. This allows me to focus on the child as a whole, rather than just their struggles. This gentle and strengths-based approach facilitates healing and growth. I have worked in schools and private and public care settings, with extensive experience in a large paediatric working with children who have experienced significant trauma.

I am very happy to work with individuals from all walks of life and backgrounds. I enjoy working with clients in freeing themselves of past traumatic experiences to live life more fully and freely. Additionally, I have extensive experience working from a lived experience lens with LGBTIQA+ communities and am kink, non-monogamous, and sex worker positive. I have a keen interest in working with people experiencing sexual health difficulties related to their mental health using a variety of hands-off counselling techniques. The team at Functional Minds Psychology is led by principal psychologist, Isaac Lee. Isaac is a generally registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA). He has also previously been a committee member for the Melbourne branch of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Isaac’s passion for the field of psychology comes from wanting to help people, to have a positive impact on those he interacts with, and to always be learning more about people, the brain, and the world.

I work with mums of babies or young children who are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, or overwhelm. They just want to be good parents, and worry they are failing. They are emotionally tuned to their children’s needs but want to do even better. Claire Baxter is a General Psychologist who works with adults and children. She works with people experiencing changed circumstance, anxiety, depression, trauma, dissociation and personality disorders and mood disorders, as well as people experiencing gender dysphoria. She works with people on a short-term, mid-term or long-term basis, depending on the individual’s therapeutic needs. Claire has an interest in working with people for who short-term therapy has proved ineffective. Claire does not do medico-legal reports.
