I am Cheryl Pratt, an experienced and skilled accredited counsellor. If you are struggling with phobias, fears, addiction, anxiety, trauma or PTSD I can offer you support and tangible solutions to alleviate discomfort and suffering. I use a range of modalities but predominantly I incorporate the evidence based therapy EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) because it produces such positive outcomes for my clients. I have more than 20 years' experience working in schools, addiction treatment centres, mental health settings and private practice. I will work collaboratively with you to achieve the results you desire.
If you feel stuck or trapped after seeking help in the past that hasn't changed how you think or feel then it's probably time to try EMDR. It's endorsed by the World Health Organisation and Phoenix Australia as one of two preferred treatments for PTSD. The wonderful thing is you don't have to talk extensively about the traumatic event(s).
I can offer you a comfortable space in which to explore your concerns and confidentiality is always a priority. Even though I rely on a particular modality (EMDR) I truly believe that building a respectful, trusting relationship is the most important factor in predicting change.
