I work with a range of adult clients with mental health issues. Prior to studying counselling I worked for over two decades as registered nurse in areas such as HIV/Sexual health, AOD, psychiatry and community mental health. I have a sound understanding of pharmacology and co-morbidities. Prior to setting up my private counselling and supervision practice I spent 10 years working within various community NGO's including LGBTIQ, Aboriginal, women's health and residential rehabilitation. Currently I contract with NGO's as a clinical and group supervisor and service a small case load of private clients.
I specialise in addictions, co-morbidities, sexuality and gender issues, anxiety and impulsivity. I work with clients wanting to recover from traumatic life events.
I can help my clients regulate their emotions, build better boundaries and manage grief and loss. Transparency in my work with clients is paramount to me.
