I'm certified in the Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program and a Certified Infidelity Recovery Professional following the 7-step Infidelity Recovery Program, guiding complex relationship issues.
The client informs my counselling approach, not any theory or modality. It's about making the client feel comfortable and being able to communicate confidently with an end goal in sight. I follow the 80/20 rule in counselling; the client talks 80% of the time, and I respond 20% of the time. With 13+ years working as a mental health nurse, both in the private and public sector, I have helped hundreds of clients and I am versed in all facets of mental health counselling. As a counsellor, I offer a safe and non-judgmental space for personal growth and healing, helping individuals overcome challenges to achieve lasting positive change.

My interests include sexual function/difficulty, infidelity and body positivity.
Moving towards a relationship, being in a relationship and leaving a relationship is challenging. This beautiful dance towards connection, belonging and intimacy often leaves individuals and couples feeling; anxious, fearful, frustrated, angry, disconnected, numb, overwhelmed, disorientated, stressed, depleted, and lost. If any of this is landing, let me just say firstly, you’re not alone. Secondly, there is a way to find the understanding, empathy, collaborative and creative space you desire to master your relationships. Therapy is a space for brave souls, who are concerned and conflicted.

You promised you would not watch online porn or live sex cams again. You feel guilt and shame because you want to stop but cant. You visited a sex worker recently and now you are worried you might have put the health of your family at risk. You plan to spend a short time on dating apps and find yourself spending hours on them, unable to put them down, feeling desperate and hopeless. You have an instant attraction when you meet a particular type of person, believing they are the one. You might be in recovery for alcohol / drug addiction, but your compulsive sexual acting out behaviours have increased and you feel guilt and shame.

Life can throw many challenges our way where we can feel overwhelmed. The opportunity to talk through these challenges with a neutral person in a confidential, caring and empathetic space can provide you with the support you need as you navigate these times.

I find joy in working with clients who identify as Christian. I am interested in helping struggling Christians find peace, when suffering from any challenging life issue. I counsel from a Christ-centred perspective using a Bible based approach to suffering. Relationships and life's troubles can cause much grief but they don't have to. There is purpose in all that life throws at us, and our reactions, choices and behaviours can be opportunities for positive change in us. This change is not just a Biblical formula but God's work in us, to make us become the person He created us to be. It is a privledge to walk with you through this

Infidelity Counsellors
How does therapy for infidelity work?
A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.
How long does therapy for infidelity take?
Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.
How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?
When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.
How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?
Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
