Are you looking for an integrative, somatic & spiritually-grounded style of therapy? My work is rooted in Process-oriented Psychology: an awareness modality that integrates Jungian psychology, dream-body awareness, nature-based perspectives, and shamanic/spiritual traditions - following your innate drive for authentic self-expression and wholeness. I work with people who desire an empowering container to transform their challenges into opportunities for psychospiritual growth and maturation. My passion is to work with psychedelic and plant-medicine integration, spiritual experiences, grief, sexuality, dreams, and relationships.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Counselling and have done further training in substance use and Somatic Experiencing.
I work primarily with females experiencing mental health issues, burnout and stress. I see people through a holistic lens and aim to support you to find integration between mind, body and emotions. With lived experience, I understand how trauma disconnects us from our bodies and how difficult it is to sit with our emotions.

Where appropriate I try to focus on upskilling my patients through DBT skills and somatic practices.
Hello, my name is Kendall. I am a queer sex and relationship therapist working exclusively online with the queer community. The majority of patients that I work with are AFAB, and of the sapphic persuasion, identities vary however I do work a lot with trans and NB folk. Individuals come to me for a variety of reasons from navigating their first queer relationship, sexual anxiety, coming to terms with their gender, realising they are some form of queer and unsure as to what to do about it. Couples are often seeking a queer therapist that simply 'gets it' to help navigate their queer relationship.

Cognitive therapies can access the mind but by also using EFT and other somatic tools the body is also brought into therapy.
I help women living in a state of chronic stress to feel better. If you are a new mum who has experienced birth or post-partum trauma or a midlife woman living with high stress and juggling many roles - I can help you. Maybe you get easily triggered and upset or retreat and feel very sad. You may feel awful, but you don't know why. There may be a lot of confusion about what actions you could take as the rational part of your brain goes offline when in a chronic state of fight, flight or freeze and it's so hard to find solutions to problems.

I am a Trauma and Relationship Specialist and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP).
Life can be hard at times, and when we meet the messy moments it can feel isolating, overwhelming, and hopeless. We are human, after all. It makes sense that we may find ourselves stuck at times - stuck in our feelings, thoughts, and behaviours and it can be tough to shift things in the right direction, especially if we are doing it on our own. With honesty and compassion, therapy is a place to explore what you're navigating and create sustainable change that supports your healing and growth. I support women who are wanting to shift out of survival mode so they can feel grounded, confident, and free.

I am a queer and non-binary counsellor that uses narrative practices, acknowledging the person I work with (of any age) as the expert on, and of, their own life. In working alongside people, I also focus on intersectionality taking a systems approach. This approach sees the problem as the problem; that our experiences of trauma and heartbreak result from a world that lacks the resources (knowledges and more) to dignify and link lives in just ways.

Sometimes life can feel like a lot. You may be anxious, grieving, feeling vulnerable or a little lost. Counselling allows you the opportunity to be seen and heard and explore what's going on. Occasionally your past can impact your here and now, and the way you deal with situations. I believe that effective therapy comes from being flexible with the therapeutic modalities used, and meeting you where you are at. I value and foster the importance of a collaborative approach to therapy. I offer a safe space for you to explore your experiences and to develop skills and understanding, which you can take into your day to day life.

People that come to me for support and with whom I have built a rich therapeutic relationship tend to be self-reflective and imaginative, and with a wish to connect with the world and others whilst finding themselves stuck on their way to reach this, at times since events long ago.

Hi, I'm Samuel (He/They/She/Any) and I'm a non-binary/genderfluid Arts Psychotherapist. In life I have used the creative arts as a way of understanding, listening to and responding to my experiences and inner conflicts. When you're overwhelmed, overworked and anxious, you are in survival mode. You're in too deep to think ahead. And it's way too hard to enact that self care plan. In fact, even thinking about it can feel exhausting. What you need is a way to create space and connect back into yourself.

Somatic Counsellors

How does somatic therapy work?

Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?

Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?

Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
