My field of expertise lies within counselling and psychotherapy. In this work, I bring passion to my core values of warmth, compassion, authenticity, the building of trust, collaboration, cultural sensitivity and safety, and respectfully creating a safe emotional space for my clients. I build strong connections by non-judgmentally validating my clients, to enable them to connect effectively with themselves and others, and thereby feel deeply listened to and understood. In cultivating a strong therapeutic alliance, I am able to collaboratively guide my clients to a place of clarity and insight.
I draw from my experience of working in the field of alcohol and other drugs, and its effects on general health, relationships, family dynamics, and complex mental health issues. My work is informed primarily through my orientation towards Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Schema Therapy, and Attachment Theory.
