Removal of love, criticism, expectations of who we should be or parents who struggled with their issues were traumatic and led to adaptations we needed for survival. My central focus is the strengthening of my clients by helping them re-connect with their ‘true self’ . All of us seek this vital inner-connection to our real self. Without this felt connection we can feel lost, disconnected and inauthentic. We find various ways of managing this, many of which make us more distanced from ourselves, keeping us feeling stuck and and less connected to others. My model incorporates both talking therapy and Brainspotting to explore and process any blocks (past traumas) to self connection.
