I focus on supporting people who come from immigrant families who want to be in more control of their own lives and be more self-efficient. This includes if you: 1) want to improve how you feel and think; 2) want more out of life; 3) want to be better equipped with dealing with family, partners, friends, colleagues or new people. I am an experienced counsellor who has a person-centred and strength-based approach to therapy. My focus is on getting to know and understand who my clients are and providing them with the space that is free from judgment and offers thema space for connection and honesty. Most of us do not often have the opportunity to be truly heard and listened to. In my experience, once a person is offered that space, they are able to see more clearly their own path and way out of situations that they find themselves in.

Highly skilled at rapport building, Mary Ann guarantees a holistic, non-judgemental, confidential, caring and empathic service. Each client is an individual with unique choices that are respected. Clients are never labelled and the problem is separated from the client. This approach assists both client and therapist to view the problem as external to the client. The client is not the problem and therefore becomes liberated from it, so that the problem can be looked at, unpacked and successfully tackled from the outside. In this way, clients are supported to discover positive solutions, creating their chosen future and wellbeing.

I work with individuals battling with grief, loss and trauma. Losses occur for us all of the time and sometimes, they hit us so hard we need a little extra support. We may experience loss of relationships, transitionary times for our children starting school or leaving home, a passing of a family member or breakdowns in relationships. Some of these losses feel as though we aren't allowed to grieve and our practice is a safe space to do so. Life is busy and you shouldn't have to fit your healing around someone else's timeline; that's why I exclusively offer out-of-hours sessions after 5pm and on weekends.

www.objectivepsychology.com.au Happy to have visitors on my new site! I consider my approach to my clients as warm, understanding, compassionate, and client-centred. I try to focus on empowering the individual and providing tools to help improve resilience and overall emotional, mental, and physical well-being. I also try to bring in an element of humour and wit, often with a different perspective than many would expect in a traditional therapy session.
