Hi there, I'm Saba. Informed by my Master of Science in Consciousness, Spirituality and Transpersonal Psychology, as well as my lived experiences, I am committed to helping individuals facing a range of well-being challenges. By delving into the origins of our beliefs and feelings through conscious and compassionate self-exploration, we uncover unique resources within ourselves and our environment that allow us to meet our challenges; physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually and in connection with others. Consequently, we flourish in Self-led, whole-person, balance and harmony.

I offer down-to-earth, evidence-based counselling and psychotherapy for teenagers and adults struggling with anxiety or stress. I help my clients understand and manage the fears, anxieties or negative self-beliefs that hold them back from living the life they hope for. Do you wish you were only more confident so you could do the things you really want to? You might be dreading facing school/uni/work every day. Or you might be dealing with difficult feelings around family separation or conflict, relocation, or have other deeper worries that you find difficult to talk through with your closest friends and family.

Life can throw up sticky moments which can feel experientially ‘heavy’. Where once we seemed to have managed well enough, where now it feels like something else is needed to meet that moment in a more enduring way. I platform a space that is safe, secure and stable that holds our work together in finding a more enduring way forward. “The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the process is its own reward”. Amelia Earhart

I'm a Clinical Psychologist who started my practice Introspect Clinical Psychology as I'm passionate about creating a supportive space for people to explore their challenges without judgement. I work with adults (18+), including individuals as well as working with couples. My areas of focus are supporting individuals to improve symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression, as well as supporting those who want to recover from harmful coping behaviours. I have a particular interest in helping individuals work through the childhood origins of their current difficulties, as well as building coping mechanisms and outlets for their distress.

Each person's experience is unique. You might be struggling with past hurts, experiencing challenging thoughts, have feelings of self-sabotage or that no matter what you do, you end up in the same relationships and repeating the same patterns. The answers lie within you and I can help you uncover them. I bring non-judgemental acceptance, belief in your resilience, and compassion to the journey that we embark on together. I will support you to find the patterns and behaviours in your life that no longer serve you.

“Everyone has their own unique experiences and so the challenges that each person presents with is specific. Sometimes we might find it challenging to make progress with problems that arise in the present because we become reliant on our defence mechanisms that reinforce our pain. I believe when we truly feel supported and cared for, we become better equipped to explore ourselves, our inner experiences (emotions, thoughts and behaviours) and gain a clearer understanding of our individual needs and what is important.” - Sha Mazaheri

Female Counsellors

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
