I arrived as a refugee with my family back in 1999. My first experience as a psychologist was in trauma field, volunteering my university holidays with STARTTS, non-for-profit organisation helping survivors of trauma. At the time I was a young person, helping other refugee kids and young people assimilate to Australia. Following my university degree, I facilitated childhood trauma paediatric clinics as the only psychologist on board with NSW Area Health for 11 years, working closely with senior paediatricians completing assessments for children, ranging from infants until 16 years of age.

As an overachiever you find yourself stressed and overwhelmed. You know it's important to practice self-care but increasingly you have found your mental health slipping. You're on the proverbial hamster wheel, burned out, feeling you've lost the capacity to meet the demands of competing roles at home and in the workplace. I am passionate about working with people in demanding work roles, be they professionals, entrepreneurs, or first responders. I also find deep value in working with clients who have identified the impact of the emotional trauma of their childhood in their current relationships and personal endeavours.

My professional mission is to assist clients at various stages in life, especially when changes are hard to deal with. When we experience a loss, we grieve. We grieve for losing our jobs, loved ones, relationships, finances, or identity. I bring comprehensive knowledge of therapeutic techniques to my practice and a deep empathy from my own experiences with losses. By guiding individuals through the seemingly insurmountable pain, I empower them to navigate their grief with resilience and courage. My therapeutic approach helps clients handle their suffering and find growth opportunities as they courageously rebuild their lives.

I work with individuals, first responders and couples with the help of my Animal Assistant Therapy dog, Max. We would love to help you live better in your life. Are you tired of feeling misunderstood and having conflict? Are you depressed, anxious and stressed by trauma and/or substance issues? Possibly drinking a bit too much? Or perhaps you are not sleeping because of nightmares or overthinking? Or you've been in therapy for long standing issues (eg childhood trauma) and progress is still not being made? Perhaps you have recently suffered a loss or going through a major life transition or chronic illness?

I have worked with individuals and couples for over thirty years, helping them negotiate the struggles of life in this time of quick change, uncertainty and significant social pressure. Relationships are the first victims when people become anxious or challenged in their lives. Yet I believe relationships are the core to good mental health and personal development. These issues are relevant to people of all ages, and not specific to gender, race or religion. The presenting symptom could be grief, anxiety, depression, arguments, irritability or any form of dysfunctional behaviour - the underlying issue has to be addressed.

We are all searching for the same universal experience, one which will ultimately provide us with a sense of meaning, peace, awe and joy. Conditioned patterns of thinking or challenging life events have the potential to throw us off kilter. However, even amongst the chaos, there is always potential for a life of fulfilment, hope and purpose. I offer (online counselling across Australia) practical evidence based and Solution Focused Psychological Therapy across a diverse range of issues tailored for women. To enhance well-being, I work holistically, incorporating the entire spectrum of the human being including; mind, body and soul.
