No two people are the same, no two stories identical. Perhaps you are already clear about what you want from therapy, perhaps our starting point is to figure this out. No matter what, all of you is welcome. Together, we aim to: heal old emotional wounds you might still be hurting from, clear up current anxiety, stress confusion or disheartenment that weigh on you; make good decisions for your life and find inner joy, calm and balance to sustain you in a meaningful way of being. When working with couples, I support partners to repair relational injuries, strengthen communication, commitment and trust and deepen love and intimacy.

Online : As a psychotherapist and a registered psychologist I have experience in many modalities. Empathically oriented, I like to get to the root cause of your current struggle and offer practical solutions. I work best with people who have already had some therapy and know that personal growth and healing is ongoing and absolutely worth it. Psychotherapy explores your current issues through the lens of your past. It's not all about "tell me how you feel", or talking about your childhood, but if this isn't taken into consideration we can't get the entire picture of how to help you be the fullest version of your true authentic self.

The world is changing, not just on a macro scale concerning issues like climate change, globalisation and social media, but on a micro scale too; the way we identify personally in terms of intersectionality, sexuality and relationship orientation. Whilst there is an increasing awareness and growing acceptance of new and different ways of being in the world, we can also find a whole new set of complex challenges arise when we start to embody our true identity. Maybe these challenges are rooted in past trauma, negative core beliefs and self-talk, overwhelming emotions, unhelpful coping behaviours or ways of relating to others.

Anxiety Specialist. I call anxiety “the Internalised Bully”. Countless clients have said “that’s it” when I demystify what is happening to them. I assist clients to understand how anxiety works in their thinking, the difference between reasonable concerns and fears that are particular to them and the painful thought processes associated with anxiety and ways to deal with this. Therapy involves massaging the neuroplasticity of cognitive change. Knotted thoughts are kneaded to soften a space for intentional ways of thinking, thus creating preferred directions, making well informed thoughtful choices.

Therapy can be short term and specific, or you may wish to have a safe and contemplative space to explore re- occurring themes in your life. You may need to examine and reset patterns of behaviour so your family/relationships can flourish and enjoy wellbeing, or you may be a performing artist or student struggling with performance anxiety, perfectionism and goal setting.

Female Counsellors
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
