Niamh Whiley - Mental Health Occupational Therapist works with children, teenagers and adults and is passionate about utilising contemporary psychotherapeutic techniques to support individuals with engaging in meaningful daily activities. Niamh is experienced working with clients with autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disorders, ADHD, eating disorders, PTSD and trauma, anxiety depression, adjustment disorder, pain, stress/burnout and providing parenting support to families. Niamh’s approach is client-centred, collaborative and tailored to focus on empowering each client to reach their best possible individual goals.
Niamh utilises play therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychoeducation, Skill-building techniques, narrative therapy, mindfulness techniques, along with a range of other techniques relevant to her clients’ needs. Niamh holds a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) from the University of Queensland.
Niamh is able to assist with Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA), Psychosocial Functional Capacity Assessments (PFCA), Supported Disability Accommodation Assessment (SIA), Supported Independent Living Assessment (SIL) and being skilled in trauma-informed care practices.
