Hi, my name is Nadia. I’m a registered counsellor, group facilitator, mediator and the mother of five in a blended family. I specialise in perinatal mental health, from pregnancy anxiety, miscarriage and infant loss, processing birth trauma, to postnatal depression, relationship problems when children arrive, and the challenges of blended families. I also have a special interest in supporting parents of gender diverse or gender questioning children of all ages.
My approach to counselling is to utilize an evidence based approach drawing upon a range of trauma informed therapeutic interventions, incorporating holistic practices like meditation, mindfulness and body based, somatic techniques such as polyvagal toning to calm the nervous system.
Parenting is hard, but it can be easier when you have the right support. I know how challenging it is to cope. Pregnancy anxiety, birth trauma. The isolation of new motherhood. The overwhelm. The shame of feeling never good enough. Problems in your relationship. The constant, bone crushing exhaustion. I get it. I’ve been there.
