In private practice Elissa works with clients who talk about having increased difficulty in coping with their daily lives for an array of reasons. Clients often say that they had been managing previously but additional stressors have been more than they could cope with on their own resulting in a deterioration in their overall mental health. Elissa also works with clients who want to understand themselves more deeply, in the hope of improving the relationship they have with themselves and others.
People that Elissa works with may be new to psychotherapy or have some prior experience in a therapeutic space. Either way, Elissa works to build rapport and trust with clients to provide a platform for therapeutic aims to be worked towards.
Elissa prefers to work collaboratively with her clients, inviting clients to sit alongside her in the therapeutic process, welcoming review and feedback to ensure treatment is meeting the expectations of those entrusting her with their care.
