Hi, my name is Maria and I am a registered counsellor in the Brisbane South area. I am committed to walking alongside my clients in the most challenging parts of their journey. I believe that with the right support, people can make changes to create the life they hope for. My focus is in understanding people’s experiences and support them in ways that are unique to their needs. It can be helpful to identify personal values and discover how they fit into everyday life and relationships. I have many years of experience supporting adolescents, adults, couples, and families.
My therapeutic approach is trauma informed and mostly a mixture of Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Practice and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. My perspective is that each person knows their experience best, and my job is to understand how their experiences impact them. I am always listening for client’s unique internal resources.
The best thing about being a counsellor is having the privilege of witnessing clients experiencing life and themselves in a different way for the first time, when they get to feel their own strength and see their own potential.
