In my work at Lallo Yellow Literacy, I am focused on helping children with learning difficulties. In particular, I provided literacy interventions for Primary School children who are behind in reading (evidence-based tutoring), and I conduct formal cognitive and educational assessments with 5-16 year olds where learning difficulties are part of the reason for referral. Lallo Yellow Literacy is a specialised service for assessment and intervention for Specific Learning Disorders - we are set up to help children with Dyslexia or other learning challenges, and to provide the intervention required as part of diagnosis.
Based in Carlton (Melbourne, VIC), I draw on my experience of 20 years working with children and my more recent specialisation in literacy and learning, to help assess learning difficulties and help children learn to read. (On 2 days per week, I work in mainstream child mental health and school readiness, however, cannot take new referrals in those roles).
We welcome referrals from across Melbourne for children needing a Psychologist for formal assessment, and referrals for children with literacy difficulties who are looking for intervention (structured, synthetic phonics tutoring) and live closer to Carlton, VIC. Helping children learn to read is our purpose.
